Okay guys I have a dilemma and need your opinion on what to do. I have been riding the Bamboo GT 2 for about 3 weeks now and love everything about it. Speed, distance, and able to go off rode. I dont use it to commute but just for fun. I have a boosted board V2 on order. So am I going to be disappoint with it after riding the GT? Should I cancel and wait for something else better to come along? I want to have two boards, one as a back up. What would you do?
If you've got the funds, there's no harm trying another board or even getting a second Bamboo! It depends what you want out of it though, if you want the most ride time then I fear you'll likely disappointed by the Boosted's range after already riding a Bamboo. And if you're not commuting on it then I doubt weight is a factor for you? If that's the case I'd go for a Carbon instead so you could have Carbon AT monster with massive range for off roading and a street setup Bamboo for other hyjinx!
Don't cancel the boosted, the quality trumps every other brand. If you don't like it, Boosted actually has a legitimate return policy.
Wait and upgrade to a Carbon GT for increased range and also a totally different feel! Don't waste you cash on boosted with crap shorter range and not even a AT option! Cos you know by now, it's so much fun you don't want it to stop, even with evolve range it's never enough!! Don't even get me started on the super carve trucks and lack of street wheel options
Don't waste your money on crap like evolve! The only reason I ever bought their **** is because I need an all-terrain board. Boosted actually cares about their customers and has a high quality, custom product. Evolve is cheap garbage built from the shittiest, cheapest components and run by assholes who have no respect for anyone. All they want is your money and every little issue that ever comes up with the board, they will pin on you. Don't expect any support from them, all they want to do is drain your wallets. If you don't believe me, just search Evolve customer support on at the electric skateboarding subreddit. Dare I mention a $600 restocking fee if you return a board? Everyone is biased on here and all these forms are moderated and run by evolve. Say something negative about evolve and they void your warranty like they did to me. I joined this forum yesterday and I'm leaving today. All this is a joke.
Hello Armando! Welcome to the site. It seems you're not a massive fan of Evolve boards, that's okay, we welcome all electric skateboard riders here no matter what your board of choice is or even if you made you own, in fact we encourage it! What we don't encourage, or tolerate, is unconstructive abuse and ranting about any persons or company. You have your opinion, and your entitled to have it, but please respect the site rules, which you agreed to when you signed up. This type of post constructed in an abusive manner is not acceptable. I think you'll also find a large number of great experiences and stories floating around the internet. No company will always get everything right, I believe you'll find the number of positive stories certainly outweigh the negative. Incorrect again, I'm afraid Armando. This site is owned and operated by me, and I have no affiliation with Evolve or any skateboard manufacturer at all. If you had read the rules you'd have already realised this. Not a single post on this forum has been moderated or deleted by myself or any other moderators, however you're on the right track to being the first. I'm no die hard Evolve fan boy, but I do like their boards. However I also have an active pre-order for a Boosted board. I think competition is healthy and the more competition the better. It keeps everyone striving to be the best that they can be, and if that results in fast progress and improvements in e-boarding technology and service from all the companies involved, then I feel that's a massive win for everyone. If you're willing to tone it down and add something of value to the conversation, and obey the most important rule then you're more then welcome to stay. However if you have nothing constructive to add to the conversation and feel inclined to continue in the same manner, then please leave.
Wow wasn't expecting that. I respect your opinion but for me I really like my evolve and havent had any problem so far. Maybe I will just keep my preorder and compare when I get the V2 but for now its hard to beat the evolve and its AT wheels and speed. Will see over time which one is more reliable.
I don't think any company is perfect, if you hunt around enough you will find someone who is not happy with a certain product. This does not mean every single person will have the same experience. So far so good for me with Evolve, and I have heard pretty much very positive stories regarding there customer service so far.
A friend of mine has a Boosted V1 dual-motor thing, but since he got his Evolve Bamboo GT almost a month ago he doesn't ride the Boosted anymore
I have had no issues with customer service, they answer their emails, and phone calls and are happy to help.
Evolve's customer service guys are excellent. I had amazing experience to be honest. I had missing part and they sent it right away with no charge, had some questions, super prompt responses always. overall experience is on point and I am picky ass, an headache customer usually give the cs **** if I don't get the proper support. Hands down good company. Boosted HQ is 20 miles away from my house and would be much reliable but AT wheels and longer range is just too good over Boosted, I'm sure Boosted have its advantages but it doesn't make sense to have a board with 5 mile range till the first quarter or 2017. Because they do not even have the new dual batteries yet.In long term it can be a good back up board but, for now Evolve Gt series is a beast.
Its offical I canceled my Boosted board V2 today. I like the bamboo gt to much and feel I would be let down if I got the V2.
I also started with looking at Boosted and ordered it. The long delivery time (somewhere beginning 2017) and range/hull climb made me look around and I so ordered the bamboo GT.
Same whit me. Had an preorder for the Boosted made in September. But after a friend showed me the Evolve Carbon GT I went straight home and got the CGT 2 in 1 from Evolve UK on preorder, this was 3 weeks ago. Im getting my board this week I hope . Mark and Andy at Evolve UK have been awesome whit they're customer service, and thats quite important when spending 2k Euros on a Board. So far so good, I live in Spain...And are bringing my new CGT to Barcelona this weekend . Feel like a kid before x-mess. Sitting all day at my doorstep waiting for the board to arrive . Hehe I canceled my Boosted preorder. (Now Boosted have even more issues, so would probably not have received the board before another 3 months have passed ....Sooo happy I did this ) Ride safe folks. Cheers Kenneth
I am posting again after 2 years, I sold my GT and got a used boosted with extended battery couple days ago. Why I sold the GT? Well, they updated my remote and now when you hit 40%, the board switches to ECO, I got thrown of the board couple times while climbing hills in GT mode full speed due to the fact board switched to Eco mode, Other thing is the reliability, I had to send the board 3 times to SOcal and it costed me 25 bucks each time even under warranty, 2 were battery error and third for connection issues. I think if they improve the battery casing and build one like the new lacroix, it will help for flexibility and reliability, and they have to updated the software on remote and have to reverse that mode switch with battery level, or they can switch to eco around 10%, not 40%, it was extremely annoying. And to be honest I almost got another evolve but it is just too expensive of a board, almost 2K with tax, they never do any promotions which really sucks. Boosted side of the story, 2 day experience with Boosted V2+, feels solid, heavier than I thought, no wobble full speed, torque is great, I contacted CS for a small issue, respond were prompt. this thing also costed me around half of retail price second hand, I am happy for commuting, most importantly I appreciate the water resistance, that was the bigger bummer with Evolve, 2K board with at least water resistance would be great. Looks like now I'm the boosted guy.
