I haven’t tried to tamper with my R2 remote at all yet. Does it just pull apart and snap back together easily? Always interested in upgrades but hesitant because I don’t want to accidentally break anything!

Super easy. The remote is held together with two screws. Note that the plastic cover over the screen, the deadman switch, and the power button are not attached so they will come loose, but they’re easily put back in place as you screw the remote back together. Use needle nose pliers to unplug the existing battery. Pop in the new one - no soldering needed if you use one similar to the one I linked. Check that the trigger can go through the full arc of motion and screw it all back together. Voila.

Do you Think is possible to ad a 102060 battery?
That would be an extremely Nice mod, 1200mah

The battery you replaced, is the newer, larger size battery or the older smaller one previously offered by evolve?

The 1000 mAh battery is a snug fit. I don't think anything larger would fit without modifying the remote housing.

In this instance, I replaced the older, smaller (500 mAh) battery previously provided by Evolve. The one that they provide now is a 750 mAh battery. I have a second R2 remote with the 750 in it - i'm going to replace that too with the 1000 mAh battery pictured above.

Did you remove the deadman switch to make this work? Saw a Facebook thread stating the dude had to permanently get rid of the deadman switch

I always just kept a usb powerpak in my camelbak in case of such occasions but that’s a very legit & clean upgrade.

No. There’s enough room for the deadman switch. Not sure why you’d have to remove it.

I just searched amazon and eBay. Looks like they are sold out. I ordered one from eBay 3 weeks ago and just got it the other day. It’s tight but it fits. My R2 actually had a 750mah in it already.
    If anyone wants it...

I built my own 10s4p battery, so far the 1000mah R2 battery is keeping up.

My R2 had a 750mah in it but I replaced it with the 1000mah anyway. I have to say, considering there should only be a 25% increase the reality is it seems like a lot more. I've done 5 complete board batteries without charging the remote and it's still showing at 100%.

Dang! That’s almost concerning, haha. You should see SOME drop considering you’ve ridden at least 40 miles

Well, I keep a USB charger with me for if the remote does drop, but I suspect the evolve battery is not that great.
