Well I am stuck as the board I bought comes with R2 already. Now it is just a big paper weight till the remote is sorted out.

    Fookwon,
It’s a slow drain over 24 hours, so just keep it charged. I’ve been using mine to try it out (I also have the other remote).

No luck, found out this issue today and by then already fully drain out. No way recharge it.

Mine has been fully drained twice. It arrived with no charge. Just plug it in. Took about 2 hours or so to charge. (Red light goes blue)

how great that i live in the home country of evolve skateboards and i orderd the new remote within 2 hours of it going online yet ill probably be one of the last to see one....

if they still send me a broken one after all that my reviews will be scathing.

maybe i should just request a refund and save myself the drama since im one of the few who actually likes the original remote.

New replacement remote turned up, prepaid label supplied to return the faulty one. All good and great customer service/communication from the UK Evolve Team. Refreshing!!

Got my replacement R2 in the mail yesterday. This one has a new problem:
When using it with the deadman switch setting OFF, the remote won't switch gears using the buttons....for ECO to FAST of back. Or Fast to GT or back. Does not respond at all. You can ride and brake but no gears switching.
You have to go into setting, turn deadman on, and then the remote will switch gears again.
Also turning off the button seems rather unresponsive when the using he deadman switch setting OFF.

Send an email to Support. Let's wait and hear what to do.

Just tried mine. Works fine with deadman off. It won’t let you change whilst the trigger is squeezed. You have to release the trigger then cycle the “gears” - Fast, GT etc.

Problem solved: Got an tip from another rider: The R-2 Trigger re-setting HOW-TO video. Problem solved.

Does anyone have trouble with the R2 dropping in and out? Like split second drops... My battery drains pretty fast (probably 30-35ks riding) but came out the box with a bit of charge. Starting to lose some confidence...
Charging up hills at peak g-force then it stops and starts, I'd look hell unco, then won't happen for 10 minutes or so. So I'll forget.. Then it'll do it again, Anyone?? Lol

you probably got one with the battery drain issue, im still waiting for my r2 remote but to be honest the hype has faded since pre order and now plus i feel super comfortable with the original remote and love its responsiveness.

That kinda sucks cause I don't have one :(
Only have the R2, I'm in the trigger setting mode (menu>moreinfo>dbl press menu>dbl press mode 2) cause I'm thinking the break button might be a tad sticky hence over riding the accelerstor. Thinking recalibrating might fix, the battery definitely is frustrating though...

look ill try the r2 when or if it finaly arrives but im starting to suspect i wont like it, firstly i don't care what speed im doing so calibration for the 107mm wheels is irrelevant and secondly battery information which is my primary consern has been dumbed down when it should of been expanded apon.

whole thing is looking like disappointment to me.

    I agree completely.
Go one better and estimate the minutes, instead of backwards and reverting to the old Nokia 3310 style.
Maybe some kind of update to fix the glitches may come. Fingers crossed.
    Good luck anyway mate.

just give me a real time % and dont mask the sag display it as a nice big readable number on the screen and let me decide whats realy left in the tank and make my own choice on how to attack that next hill....

a dumbed down battery bar doesn't cut the mustard so to speak.
