Ok guys, first ride after my incident almost 20 days ago. My broken rib still hurts BUT who cares :see_no_evil:. It's good to be back on the board..

For me, personally, the reverse mode is not of much use, so I wish it could be disabled. I do not ride backward and only need it occasionally to summon runaway board. I do not mind pushing few extra buttons for that. It should not be easy to get into this mode accidentally.

Coming from E-Go and then Boosted boards, I will be also perfectly content if the board allows switching modes only when stationary. This comes with the caveat that the board should just stay in the mode I set it to and not randomly jump to ECO. (E.g. I had 60% and was going up a very steep hill on FAST and the battery suddenly jumped to 20% and then self-switched to ECO mode. Once I got back to the flat surface it jumped back to 60% but I had to manually switch back from ECO back to FAST which was annoying).

Yeah I came off again today, no damage to me bar a few bruises... micro droppout under power and damaged a truck. Ive had a few now so will be sending the board this week and get the problem fixed asap... Glad to hear your back on the beast.

Happy that you are ok man!
I re-contacted Evolve because the remote issue persists.. (battery % disappears for few seconds while riding and the kilometers on the display freezes) this is what they said:

"these display delays are on all boards.

But it is just the display, nothing else. If you would not look, you would not notice, because the board reacts completely normal.

So this is nothing dangerous or that affects riding in any ways, it is just that the display shows it sometimes a little later."

To be honest I'm not happy at all.. we're talking about a board that pretends to be the Ferrari of the e-board, which costs 1.600 euro.

I've seen the % indicate "---" while riding for a second or so, as described. I have never lost control of the board during those times.

find it a huge pain in the ass that the board switched back and forth form fast or GT mode to eco on it own i have hills i have to ride up and down everyday, the switching back and forth took away the fun from the ride. especially because my remote/board would drop the connection and wouldn't respond fast enough for me to switch to keep motion up to start going up the hills so i would have to pull off to the side of the road an wait for the remote to catch up. when i called evolve about this i was told at lower level battery i was at 60% it was to protect the motors my boosted board v1 would run whatever mode i put it in until 0% battery. Understand they want to keep there boards running but its a huge pain to switch back an forth, if i want to run the board in fast mode until 0% that should be my choice not the manifacture

It's all part of the process, best to get the first fall out of the way early, dust yourself off, whack on a few bandages and head back out :punch:

I read this OP (broken rib) BEFORE I purchased the board.. so I must comment to hopefully sway Evolve to listen; Here is my take: I am a tall rider 220lbs+, was testing range on street wheels & went 19.5 miles mostly flat trail (Burke Gilman Seattle, Matthews Beach To Fremont and back) with some slight grade. Had 10-20% left on my Bamboo GT with 83mm street wheels averaging 11-12 MPH. Used Eco on flats, fast or GT on grades.

This was my 3rd ride (Long time boarder and Ninebot One E+ owner) still learning & got my 1st scrape.
The remote was not connected/showing battery level a couple times.. which by itself is not a huge deal but on one occasion it was slow to shift.. thankfully I slowed & only going about 9-10 MPH, but it did go into reverse! (Yes I have the new remote, but because it lost signal the commands were delayed)
The only casualty was an LCD screen on my camera (which was on my belt) some aches & scrapes.
But I definitely think you should be able to completely DISABLE reverse. I will never use reverse. What if I was going 20MPH+ ? Yikes!!

Evolve should also do away with the board shifting into ECO automatically when battery is at 40%. Going up a hill in GT and having a Mandatory shift down, is also dangerous. I should be able to control when I shift gears!
These are 2 major flaws and could be a deal breaker if it happens again. Just dumb really.. asking for trouble. Whoever thought of these ideas.. should repent.. change it, or be fired.
It will detract from the overall potential this board has to cruise and have fun without worrying about the risks of breaking body parts because of these 2 design debacles.
Otherwise a very fun board. good control, stylish and the advertised range is spot on.. we had lunch at Google headquarters on Lake Union and many employees were checking out complimenting the board.
So I am on the side of Evolve... as this is the brand of board I purchased, but please allow reverse to be DISABLED and remove the mandatory/forced shift down.

Please visit the Ideas and Suggestions forum and vote for ideas that you support: just "like" the initial post. This is the best way to help the Evolve team prioritize bug fixes and new features. Your vote matters!

Here are a few to address this issue:
Evolve Suggestion - Remote preference: Option to allow or disable reverse
Evolve Suggestion - Vibration in remote to signal rider
Evolve Suggestion - User updatable firmware
