I literally have no words except for laughing incredibly hard at the amazingness of this build.

Yes, it literally uses a mini jet engine...using air...to propel itself.

I don't really care about the practicality of this. He's got a jet engine on the board instead of a motor for crying out loud. So good, Lets see an incline test anyway :D

All credit to the designer / builder of this for having the balls to try and beat a 60mph record on it but those jets are perfectly placed to receive whatever debris the front wheels kick up at them... o_O

Good point. Maybe he could apply a filter.

Even if some debris does enter, what's the worst that could happen though? The engine would stop working and he'd lose a bit of thrust, it won't stop dead. Not the end of the world.

It's not like he'd drop out of the sky like a plane

No melting wheels as of the heat from the exhaust??

Hehe, it's not a combustion engine mate. (Which burns fuel to power the turbine, and would get hot like you suggest!)

It's using electricity from the battery to power the turbine, so I would have thought it's only fresh air getting passed through at high speed.

I don't care for the placement. Board is jacked way up on spacers for ground clearance, and as mentioned above, the engines will eat all debris thrown up by the wheels. Maybe mounting at the rear, and higher, would be better. Not sure what could be done about the obnoxious noise. Using fuel instead of batteries may conflict with some local public road use laws, as well. All that aside, it is definitely cool. ;)

Or, you can use a good old fashioned gas-powered engine, lol

I like this idea of the jets blowing wind toward the wheel to make it move. Thanks for posting this I really enjoyed it!
