Irish road ate my tyre... still safe to ride?

I'm a complete skateboard newb; snowboarded for years though so not completely alien to the board world....
I bought a Carbon GT last week for my final mile commute, and it is absolutely fantastic, the best thing I've spent money on since a Nintendo Game Cube (what's that, over ten years ago!).... Anyway, I arrived home today and noticed that on the way back a typically rough Irish road had fed on my rear tyre.... picture attached...

So, my question is, should I pause my burgeoning skateboard career due to this dismembered tyre, or is it nothing much to be worried about? I'm still riding pretty slowly, averaging probably 15km/hr as I'm waiting for the All Terrain tyres to come into stock in the UK shop...

    Many thanks compadres.

Mate, wont comment on your wheel as i use all terrain and would have no clue.
But god the roads in my area (blue mountains NSW AUS) are freaking terrible.
Ive been to Ireland a few times and they seem just as bad as what we have here.
You will love the AT tires, they chew up everything!

Yeah you be fine. Maybe upgrade to ABEC 97 if you wanna keep the street feeling those boys are bad ass!! ;);p

Urethane wheels chunck like that pretty easily. Your wheel is structurally fine, in no danger of coming apart. More than likely you won't notice it. I don't use anything but the AT wheels. They have much more grip on a wide variety of surfaces, and roll over obstacles far better than any other option. They can be tricky to set correct pressure, but once set, mine have held pressure well over the months I have had my carbon and bamboo GTs. I'm 220lbs and like to carve. After less than 200 miles, I'd guess mine are half way to being corded.

Will be fine but keep checking the bottom of the trucks. London roads took big chunks out of my rear truck before I switched to 97s.

Plainview – I agree with everything the others have said. The evolve street wheels are harder than the abecs so if you can afford the 97s I think they provide a great street ride soaking up bumps along with decent clearance for your motors. If your roads are really bad the ATs are the way. They provide a much smoother ride where branches and other debris aren’t an issue. They also provide great clearance for the motors unless they take a direct hit. You can always rotate it to the front after a while. I always tend to wear my back wheels at first.
