Where do I buy grip tape for the 2nd street gen? It's not on the website and I want to be prepared for when my grip loses its grip because I use the rubber method to clean my board and that "kills" the grip apparently.

I suppose it depends on what you are looking for but I just get my grip tape from Amazon. I used to go to the local skate shop but the selection on Amazon is pretty hard to beat. I have to say I don’t know what the rubber method of cleaning the board is. I generally replace my grip tape every couple of seasons or so on most of my boards but it really depends on how much I use that board. I added tape to the edges of my GT carbon and it is holding up well. Good luck and enjoy the board.

Thank you for replying! The rubber method is a cleaning method where you use rubber or grip gum & a bras brush to get rid of the dirt in your board. It's the only effective way I know how to clean my board, how do you clean yours? Also to replace the grip tape do I have to sand down the gripe tape on my board? Thank you

I brush it off with a small hand broom or blow it off with compressed air.

I don’t have a bamboo board but for all of my wood boards I just peel the tape off and leave the left over adhesive on. Make sure the surface doesn’t have any dirt or grit where the new tape won’t stick well. I then apply the new tape. But before I even remove the old tape I put a towel or something on a couch, put the grip side down of the new tape on the towel, press the board down firmly on the tape and trace the outline on the grip tape. I then cut about a 1/8 to ¼ inch inside the lines so the grip tape isn’t overhanging the board when I put it on. I do a test dry fit before peeling the backing off to make sure I don’t need any extra trimming first. Because the electric boards have more screw holes it is best to do this with the components off so you can poke through the holes easily. I have been known to leave the screws in, use a screw driver to pierce the new tape, back out the screw a bit, trim with an x-acto knife and screw back in. But that’s just me being me. Now having said that if the bamboo has a sprayed on grip tape then sanding may be the best method for removal but I defer on that one. I keep it simple (I pretty much live my life by the KISS principle) so I have more time to skate and do other stuff ;-).
