Man, i sure wanted to like the new board, but it's got its glitches. Damn. Too bad.

    1. The initial acceleration needs to get damped. Even in GT, nobody needs the first jolt. I doubt it's a user issue. It is more of a programming issue. Need to smooth it out more. (I always kick start, too.)

    2. I was switching between modes, and even though the mode switches on the remote, the board seems to be in another mode, maybe the older mode. For example, i was riding straight in ECO full throttle (FT) and max speed is 11mph. ok. Switch to FAST to see the top speed, about 18. ok. Switch back to ECO. Full throttle and the max speed is still 18? That's weird. Play with throttle a bit, and max speed is back down to 11mph. That is weird.

Anyway, if one cant trust the remote, it's really hard to loosen up on the board and relax with it.

    3. Right now as things stand, i can probably only use ECO mode, because of the issues above. I would like to use FAST mode and then just modulate my top speed. Unfortunately, i cant trust the remote for that. Also, the jolts at low speed are just uncomfortable. Bummer.

In another thread, i see someone asked about customized modes. I think even better is just to refine the modes a bit better with the suggestions above. Thats all i need.

    Updated:
    4. I realize that the initial jolt is a total waste on battery as well. If the initial startup curve was smoother, the range would be that much better.

I agree with you on #1. A better speed ramping curve would be better. I'm not sure about #2 as I never switch between modes while riding. I wouldn't conclude as you do though that this makes the remote not trust worthy. I am just careful with the throttle and keep it in GT.

I have the Carbon GT, the remote is hard to learn at first. Lots of times getting tossed off the board by braking or accelerating to hard with your finger. It just takes a matter of time and learning, after a week's of riding you soon will master it and the remote becomes second nature. I've seen a couple buts with the remote but not to get spooked about not trusting it while riding.

Just make sure you always wear a helmet when riding this board, actually any board.

from what i understand when you switch modes, you have to let go of the trigger before it actually changes modes. maybe that's why it said 18 when you switched back to eco?

hmm, yeah that might be what happened. however, i believe the remote still does show the new mode, even though the board is still on the old mode until the trigger is neutralized or released. that is still a confusing contradiction.

I believe you are correct, which make it confusing and a bit unsafe. I've learnt to always slow down before changing modes just incase.

It's so you can't change speeds modes while bombing along. A safety feature. Imagine ya hammering in GT flick to slow and it engaged straight away, speed setting won't change till your back in neutral.

same for REV, if you hit REV you still have a chance to figure out what mode you are in, you have time to release the trigger and when you apply again you will go into REV.
