Evolve pintail gen 1 motor glitches a little when I give it throttle.

Anyone have any tips on how I can start looking into this?

Last year I went down a steep hill holding the brake the whole time because of people everywhere. I then went to give it gas an nothing! It glitches a little when I give it throttle but doesn't move the wheel at all. So it knows I'm giving it gas but something is telling it no!

Any tips on what I should look at first? I don't want to sell this as is on eBay because a new evolve is too much $ for me. If I sell it I will miss it to much.

I have taken it apart a little and noticed no damaged wires or anything like that. Brake still works...But no juice.

    Thanks...Colin

How charged was the board when you went down hill? Is it possible that the batteries were so full that it overloaded ... assuming that braking charges the batteries?

No this one drains the battery when you use the brake! ITs the old school one!! I might have to pull it back apart and check voltage I guess. It had to be the speed controller or motor. But Im guessing I cant even get parts for this unit anymore. Might be a lost case.

Hello Colin, did you resolve your problem? I recently got a Pintail, I was wondering about the range of the battery, how many miles do you go with it ?

I usually got around 15 kilometers out of my pintail. Im a heavy heavy guy(300lbs) and I was usually full throttle the whole time.

I gave the board to my buddy to have a look at. I didnt even check voltage. I now have the Evolve One and Bamboo GTX that I am waiting to ride! Still a lot of snow up here.

Hello 15 km is not bad, I can go around 10km, I think the battery is not as good as your's. when the battery start to bee weak the red light on the mini remote start to turn on. Do you get the same thing ?

Hall sensor was dirty after a long brake downhill it built up inside the motor. 100% now! Waiting for the snow to melt now!
