Evolve GTX remote LAG spikes...

So I recently just purchased a GTX. I didn't get the new R2 remote with it because they were all out. They sent me an email letting me know that they will be shipping mine in 2 weeks or so. Now having no other option other than to use the current one for now. I have been having crazy lag spikes and even a few times where the board just stopped accelerating. I had to pull on the side of the road and turn it off and then on again for it to go away. With the lag spikes, it will break and it will respond 2 seconds later completely catching me off guard (especially on GT). Now if I lived in the Australian outback, these wouldn't be much of a problem but I live in NYC. I need to have confidence in my board if I want to ride here and the current remote just doesn't provide that. Has anyone here received the R2 remote? Are you having any issues?

yes I have experienced this twice with my 2ish week old gtx. (once today) terrible weather in the Uk so haven't used the board as much as I would like. The drop off in acceleration can be quite scary when you're not expecting it.

But when it happens, it seems to do it immediately as soon as I go. I turn off board and remote and everything is cool again.

Im using original remote also waiting for the R2 to ship. Im hoping the R2 solves this.

    Hi dannyboyski
We have 2 GTX’s in our house both using the R2 remotes, neither boards have suffered any drop outs so far so fingers crossed the R2 will sort it for you when it arrives.

Good to hear. Yes I'm hoping its sorted with the new remotes. 2 must be awesome fun "for the kids"......particularly the bigger adult kids! ;)

Yeah there having great fun (when it’s dry)!
Trouble is I’ve not been on them yet
Want to get myself a Carbon GT but I’ve bankrupted myself buying the 2 GTX’s so that’ll have to wait
Seriously though they have been riding there’s since Christmas and neither have had a single drop out.....as yet.

the gtx is better you can ride it hard on street without fear, what you think a carbon would maintain its structural integrity if you did this to it ?

Just reading your post cause you mentioned the spikes, that's exactly what mine does, I have the carbon GT though WITH the R2 remote :/
Keen to see how you go with the new one. Much like yourself I ride in the cbd which is majority bumper to bumper traffic at the moment and don't have the balls to take the board there anymore due to this issue.

Haha your fine and I realise what your saying about the Carbon.
As for keeping up with boys I’ve no chance! one of my boys weighs in at 4stone and the board fly’s!
They both laugh when I say I’m gonna get a board too!!

ok im gonna come out and say it...

there are two types of carbon riders right...

one is the i ride AT wheels on street cause im afraid to get my deck near the road and its bits and the second is the i ride fast on street wheels but only in perfect conditions because my board is fragile and im a chicken ****.

both of the above types live in fear of what their board cost and how easy it will be wrecked haha

    not a gtx riders problem

I actually bought the carbon because I know half of it is not cut out to fit a sub par battery in it. I know the gtx board would never snap, but the thought still freaks me out haha, I'd rather have the stiffer ride.

    Hi snee scampers
Both my boys are looking at getting a street set up as currently they only ride on AT wheels what with the weather etc, presume your wheel with a “chunk” missing is an white evolve 97mm?
I know there’s been reports of these wheels having chunks taken out easier than some other wheels but what’s your spin on it? Was you really pushing it or using them a poor surface?
Don’t know whether to go the green abec 97 route or evolve 97’s?
    Cheers snee

those are 107 abec11 im not sure where in the ride that happened exactly but i do suspect one incident where a big carving turn to go up a concrete footpath ramp ended in a sudden stop. it was dark and i didn't notice the wheel right away but that concrete ramp had like a 40mm edge where it meets the road, the front end did slide across a little and the right wheel which is fine was up on the concreat and the dammaged one was down against the 40mm edge.
so yea it probably was my own fault.

something ya might find interesting, just did a ride. decided to swap off my 107mm abec wheels since one has a huge chunk out of it but i left the 38t drives on just because id never used those with the 97mm stone ground before.
almost 10kmph slower but whats interesting is it didn't realy accelerate harder, maybe the gearing is positioned wrong in the torque curve of the motors for that wheel diameter? braking was more savage and handling was twitchy compared to the 107mm i didn't adjust bushings.
other fun facts are i managed to get wheel spin accelerating in tight turns and i got lock up chatter during braking, none of that happens on the 107mm.
something else my r2 remote suddenly decided it would not connect part way through the ride no matter how i tried so i pulled out the r1 i take it as backup and it connected.
another fun and interesting piece of information the r1 had smoother braking using the 97mm wheels and 38t drive combo, maybe i have a fat thumb and a sensitive finger ?

Interesting to know, do you prefer the overall feel of the 107’s compared to the 97’s then snee? Do you personally feel it’s worth getting the 38gear set up with the 107’s instead of using the 32gear?
    Cheers snee

definitely prefer the 107mm and would recomend 38t if your going to use them.
iv only used my 97mm a few times, ill probably leave them on but switch back to 32t for them untill i get replacement 107mm.
plan to just get the 107 and drive pack fit the new wheels and keep my 3 good ones as spares, that way i have a fresh 38t drive and set of bearings for later.
