Hi guys. I did some research before buying my evolve 107mm wheels. I saw some complaints about chunking, but it didn't seem to be a common occurrence.

But, then after only a few rides and less then 10 miles on my less then a week old evolve 107mm wheels one of the rears is cracked and about to chunk. I was shocked! I otherwise love these wheels, but for the price they should be more durable then that. It was all pavement riding, but with rough patches, and some spots with gravel on the road. I thought that's what these wheels were for!!! I weigh 150lbs and ride WOT, and carve and slide.

I emailed evolve and they said sorry, but they don't warranty the wheels. They told me to contact Abec11, so I did. Waiting to hear back.

Please post your experience with the 107mm wheels good or bad. I hope to hear I am in the minority of people with problems with these wheels. Please post pictures of the damage.

    Thx,

Mine chunked after my very first ride, road bike path and some curb with a little gravel along the way.

I made a post similar to yours with pictures. I reached out to Evolve for help but that ended up being an issue as well. Basically wheels aren’t covered under their warranty even though it happened the first week I had my board.

Reach out to them and tell them what happened, let us know how they help you. I actually purchased the boostedboard stealth not because of its power because evolve boards are more powerful but because of how good I’ve heard their customer service is and durability of their boards. Waiting on my boosted stealth..

Sorry I should have mentioned, I was already in contact with them about issues with my Bamboo One so I hit them up about the wheel and they replaced it. So I have a new wheel but have been staying with the old chunked one until I decide what I am doing with the board. RE the other issues I started another thread on that, but note that I also got a chunk out of the standard wheel and also on the first ride. I am 220lb and ride WOT and carve etc.

What was the verdict? I'm planning swapping out my ATs for some 107s (need more range) but not sure if it's advisable. also can any 107s fit or do they need to be these Abec 107?
Also what is ride WOT? Wide open throttle?

I'd heard about Evolve 107's cracking from an old thread, so I bought Superfly's from Newton's Shred. Despite them supposedly all being the same compound I still doubt that. Mine have been over some pretty shoddy surfaces daily while commuting, easily 150 miles so far and I weigh 95kg with my work backpack - no cracks or splits whatsoever.
