I live in California, and here you can ride an electric skateboard on the road as long as you wearing a helmet. I am going for a couple of weeks to Philadelphia this summer and contemplating taking by Evolve board with me. What are the laws there?

Make sure you can bring it on a plane if you're flying.

Hey Vzaliva, stumbled into your post today. I live in Philly I have not had a problem zipping around on my board here. If you're here now or coming later in the summer, make sure you hit West River Drive. It runs along the Schuylkill River, 4 lanes total, 2 in each direction and is closed to traffic on the weekends from 7pm to 12 noon. It is great to ride on, smooth, long, partly shaded and nothing in your way except for the occasional bicyclist or jogger. Other than that it's wide open. The last few times I went it was still closed beyond the 12 o'clock hour. The stretch goes from the Falls Bridge all the way into the city by the Art Museum.

I've been riding in philly for a couple of years now. For the most part philly cops have bigger things to worry about than an eboard. Stay away from high traffic areas like center city and south street. I ride mostly in the streets and the only time a cop ever said anything to me was when a bike cop thought it was cool and had questions.

For the most part Philly cops are cool, but if one does give you a hard time don't mouth off because they won't put up with it like a suburb cop might.
