I'm a out this >< close to pulling the pin and buying an electric board but ....I'm trying to decide which one ? I guess I want one that's versatile and I can ride on rough footpaths (pavement) and the road as I head down to the pub . I love the look of the evolve 1 bamboo but I wonder if the smaller wheels would be a problem...so I'm thinking the all terrain. Any thoughts ? Regards Dave
Few thoughts 1. The ATs will roll over pretty much anything and have a really nice smooth ride. You loose a little mileage because of the wheels but you can ride dirt paths and over larger objects. 2. I am not certain the Bamboo One has an AT option so you should check that if ATs are something you might want at some point. 3. With the one motor on the "one" you may find times you wish you had two motors ;-) 4. When going home from the pub just be careful, even with one motor these things can put you on your assshhhhh. Well the “One” is no longer on the website, so it might be headed for discontinued status or a significant redesign. The premise was right-on but there have been reports of the motor mounts bending, perhaps due to the stress of such a powerful, single motor. Anyway, from what you describe, fartnz, I’d defintely recommend the AT setup as xrayturner mentioned, as long as the pub isn’t more than 5 miles away. If you’re planning on riding back home after a pint, be sure to consider a full face helmet. Pull the trigger! Join us!
Yes. The remote has both a trigger for accelerating and one for braking. The R2 remote to me is the better remote for both although I honestly don’t use my brake near as much as many people do. I think all new boards come with the R2 remote so comparing to the R1 may be a moot point.
Practice hard carves on flat ground. They’re helpful on hill descents when you have the room. Also, practice braking with your trailing foot on the ground. You may need one or both skills WITH the brakes in order to feel comfortable and confident on hills. And protective gear!
If you have the coin go a GTX AT, if not BGT. Like it was said before the R2 remote is the go, the standard remote brakes very quick -doesnt like hitting the ground either- espically on those rides home from the pub. Just gear up and learn to bail out with it on Best of luck
