I stumbled across Casey and his vlogs somehow in February or March of this year.

He was my first exposure to electric skateboarding and instilled the desire to go out and get one for myself.

Without his vids I'd never have come across Evolve skateboards or met all the great people in the Evolve community that I've had the pleasure of meeting and riding with over the last 8 months or so.

Andy Evolve Mat Glow Ball Jimbo Chris crowder Kevsey D Dave SoCal Legend mrjonnyjones B3NWO1R + all the others whose username I can't think of.

He was and is an excellent ambassador and promoter of the use electric skateboards and I'm sure the e-skate following will continue to grow rapidly even without his vids.

I'm sad to see his vlogs end, but pleased about the difference they've made to my life this last year and looking forward to seeing what other cool vids he comes along with next.

    Let's keep on riding :metal:

For past year odd I've had to put up with loads of people asking if my board was a boosted. Which is as good as coming up to me and swearing. Every single one of them knew this guy I made a point of asking ha ha he really put them on the map.

I watched occasionally, liked the way he edited his videos. That boy nailed it with the opportunities and freebies so big respect for that alone :ok_hand:

Same story here, it's a pity he has ended it, all good things must come to an end though I guess.

I've seen this guy but not as much as the kids have certainly made a name on the Internet.

He was indeed also the reason I started to look at electric skateboarding....and Evolve was the logical choice when looking at specs and options

Also sad he ended the vlogs - he's how I discovered the higher-end e-skateboards - BB and Evolve. I was re-examining the e-skate marketplace about 6 months ago (last time I looked, about 3-4 years ago, they were all the terrible 70lb. ones with lead-acid batteries - no thanks), did a YT search on "electric skateboard", and that's how I found out about him, and Boosted. Then after MUCH more reading and research, found Evolve and decided on the GTs. So glad I did - even with the problems I've been having with the CGT. The boards are fantastic fun, and I'm using them much more than I thought I would. And I can't imagine having to end a ride after 4-5 miles - most of mine are 8-12 miles.

And he was really entertaining, great editing style. Couldn't believe he rode around without a helmet - at max speed, in Manhattan traffic, without a helmet. Sometimes in the rain. Just nuts. But he's super-entertaining. Hope he'll still publish content regularly.

Yeah lol. But he also co owns it with Matt, that would leave him with 12.5 million. I'm sure he has investors he is going to have to pay back maybe. Other people he worked with as well....but yeah...a lot of electric skateboards...

    Wait, they're shutting it down?

What's the point of CNN buying it if not for the userbase?

I signed up to test it, wasn't that impressed and haven't been back.

Beme was not a success but it got good attention and Casey has a large audience. I guess CNN bought his name and what he might be able to with his team when part of CNN.....my 2 cents

    Yeah, I guess.

Perhaps they're using the existing codebase of the app to create a new CNN News version.

Seems odd they would try to build up a userbase from scratch though. I wonder how many users and MAU it had

Update here. Seems like the Beme team are still about and will be working from NYC and hiring additional staff in order to create a new tech product for CNN.

What that is, they haven't actually figured out though.

He still uploads occasionally, but more usually videos that require more planning and production, such as his Christmas drone special.

I posted it in the drone thread

    The Drone Thread

I imagine he's also busy working on content for his new CNN gig. He added a new personal vid yesterday I think, but not had time to watch it.
