    Hola guys :)
Im managed to get the last Carbon GT AT whit the street kit, on preorder from the UK store. The 2 in 1 sold out before I could type in all my info, luckily i got the LAST AT version.... Been waiting so long to order this board.

    BUT.....

Since I made my order I have watched a TON of videos from ELS8 builders and sellers, and now I have a few concerns I would like to get opinions on.

    First the battery...

I saw a video where the power cut suddenly on the Bamboo GT. And one where the battery went from 50% to 0 in 2 KM.
This made me a bit concerned, anyone had this problem whit the Carbon GT?
And if there is a problem, or I just want to get an extra battery pack in the future, is the battery swappable on the CGT?
Can I order a new battery from Evolve, or use a 3rd party battery?
Or do i have to get a new board when the battery dies?

    Then the remote...

See a lot of complains regarding the remote, Is this fixed now?
Can I use a different remote?

    The price....

The Evolve Carbon GT AT whit the street kit, cost me 1920 pounds. And thats a lot of money for me. (Can bye a decent car for that money here in Spain). I saved a long time for this, and would like to get my moneys worth. Im 39 y/o and haven't ridden a skateboard in 20 years, snowboard in 10 years, I use to be quite good, so dont expect to much problem riding a e-board. The main reason I choose Evolve is the possibility to change wheels, AT and street...Thats awesome.
Are you Carbon GT riders happy whit the board compared to price? And would you still choose this board, if you could to bye a new 2000 pound E-board today? If NO...What board would you bye?

Did I make the right choice when ordering this?

    Rain..

Is the Carbon GT water resistant? Can I drive home if its start to rain on my trip?
Or do i have to avoid all water, puddles and stuff?
And what aboth sand and dust?

Any other things I should know about the board?

Last question....When the board arrives, is the battery full?
    Can I ride straight away?
Or should it be charged for a longer time then normal the first charge so battery last longer?

Thanks to everyone who bother to answer some of my questions.

Have a great day, and ride safe,

    Cheers Kenneth.

you can swap the battery in the Carbon GT, but they would cost lots of money I would say, not something you would want to do often. You can order then via Evolve, but they are not listed on their site, you have to contact them directly for the price.

The boards come pretty well charged, but top them off before you take it for the first ride, and charge your remote too.

as for wether I am happy or not, I would still yes and no,.... I got mine in the first round of orders even before the bamboo was announced. the range is fantastic, cant complain about that, but I it has been back twice already at just over 3 months of light use.
First off I had connection issues, it would drop out while riding randomly, they sent out a new remote, but it still did the same thing, so I needed to send the whole board back and get them to apparently replace the whole motor controller board, that seemed to fix it.
Then about a month later I had a broken motor wire, apparently many others have had this too, the wires seem too thin and not long enough and poor crimping, so not being a electronic guru I had to send it back again to be fixed. Shipping costs $70 from Mebourne to QLD if you wanted to know ;) on a group ride we also found they can be prone to the occasional bluetooth interference, which means your signal can drop in and out, or even control another board, a new remote is said to fix this, but they are not swapping over remotes for effected users, thats another $120 if you want it.

so apart from those issues, which is seems from our small sample pool of say 100 ish users, the boards are a stack of fun, but do wear protection, as i have experienced as well as many others, if you get a connection issue or a drop out, you will not have brakes.

Thanks for answering a few of my questions :)
Do you have the bamboo or the Carbon GT?
Seems like the problems are mostly whit the Bamboo but Im not sure...
Hope its no issues whit mine, that would really suck after all this saving and waiting :)

Would you bye this board if you could get a new 2000 pound board today? If not what board would you choose?

    Cheers Kenneth

I have the Carbon GT, they both seem to have issues, how many are having issues is not known, they say a "small percentage" I can only speak from our sample pool of 100-ish users.

I got this board as I was looking for a while, and they are a local company in my country, although the boards are actually like everything these days made i a factory in china. It was a lot of money, cost me over $2000, if I was looking for a board today there seem to be many out there and even more popping up. Just do your research and find what is best for you.

Thanks. Yeah Im really exited to get this board. Cant sleep now that its so close...hehe
Im thinking of saving to a mellow board for the summer.....The option to swap to any deck, and batteries in minutes+hub wheels is awesome.

    Thanks for the reply mate.
If others have more input please come whit them.

The main reason I choose the Carbon GT was the option to swap to AT wheels, And I like the specs and look.
Just a bit scary when the boards have issues.

    Cheers Kenneth

Anyone up for answering some of my questions thats still unanswered?

Got a few answers from W.Jordan. Thanks Mate :)

But as you see im still in the dark on several questions:

    Rain...
Can I drive my Carbon GT if its starts raining on a trip?
Puddels? And what about dirt when driving in sand and stuff?

    Wheels....

I want to order spare parts so I have them when I need them.

    I got this from eBay:
    8 x ABEC-9 SPEED BEARINGS + SPACERS SET-PACK RODAMIENTOS-SKATEBOARD-MONOPATIN
NEW SET 8 SPEED RINGS/WASHERS FOR SKATEBOARD/LONGBOARD WHEEL AXLE LESS FRICTION!
    And 4 ABEC 97mm 75a Flywheels.
Dose all wheels use the same size bearings and washers? (AT and different street wheels)

Is this enough? Have I missed anything?
And can I just pop of the gears on the std street wheels, and place it directly on the Flywheels?

    Any other things should get?

    Belts....

Dose the Carbon GT come whit extra belts?
I saw a Enertion Raptor unboxing and he got like 8-10 extra belts in the box.
If they dont ship extra belts, where is the cheepers place to get spares, and what size should I choose for both AT and street setup?

Is this enough spare-parts for a new CGT? Im hoping to receive mine in Spain this week, and dont want to risk any downtime if some parts have issues. (parts I can replace easy myself I mean)

Thanks guys. I know its a ton questions. Hope you have a few min to reply.

Ps I have off course ordered all kinds of protection. That part is fixed :)

    Cheers Kenneth

    - The boards are not water proof, but if it starts to rain just lightly yes you can ride for a short distance, it is mostly sealed up, but again, it is water resistant, not waterproof. You can do through little puddles and ride after it has been raining, but it is all at your own risk, it is not covered by warranty.

    - bearings and washers are all the same size for wheels, including 97mm wheels. You do not need to buy anything at first, you will get two sets with your board, and a little bag of extra parts including bolts, screws, speed rings washers. If you want to buy still later, get a nice set of bearings, don't pay lots of money, just a good set of bearings that have in built spacers and washers.

    - the gear for the street wheels is the same for the 97mm wheels, just slide it off and put it through the new 97mm wheels and you are good to go.

    - You only get one set of belts for whatever set up you picked, no spares. they sell them for about 20-30 through Evolve, or you can get them online cheaper at other placer, shop around.

    - you really don't need to spend anything at the start, just take it easy and get use to your board, but if you really want to, get extra belts, thats about it really, anything else you can get quickly if it busts. Downtime is not fun, but be prepared for that to happen, or to sip the board back if you have issues, it is just a part of having these boards, many things can go wrong.

Thanks a lot for the reply.

What size should the belts be?
Is the belt for street and AT the same? If not, can you link me to some belts that fit the GT AT and street, on amazon or eBay maybe?

    Thanks again

    Cheers

belts are different for street and AT, I don't have a link at the moment, but they use Gates belts, you can google or check out FB page to find the exact belts used.
