Bad pairing or just bad esc.

I find myself posting because I've hit a dead end in trying to figure out what to do.

I'm running a Carbon GT W/AT tires and original controller. The board is now on its second ESC. I got first one wet with dirty snow and I'm sure salt got It's way. The second ESC has been running on my board for a couple months. A few days ago I left my mom's to head home on a full charge. Road about half a mile and stopped at a red light. When I tried to continue my ride the board wouldn't connect or run.

The remote shows connection and disconnects constantly. The wheels won't run but I can get into the hidden menu and see the wheels rpm when I hand spin the tires. However the controller stays on safe mode and throttle won't work. Any ideas on what might be happening are highly appreciated. I've tried to unpair and repair but no change only that now I don't see it connecting.

That's what I'm afraid of. I figured I'd check around for ideas and experiences on this issue. Not sure how this will go but I'd hate to hear that I would need to buy another one for 200 bucks. It adds up way too quick. Thanks for the input. Next will be to get in touch with Evolve.
