    Hi everyone,
I managed to catch a remote lag on camera.
Whatcha out and always always check the remote when changing mode!

  2. I do not think I have ever seen an Australian make a complaint video about a product before and post it online. They usually go to the company and show them directly and get the problem solved. Other countries always seem to love posting themselves making complaints online.
I am not judging, just pointing out something I have come to really notice while reviewing items. I am sure there are some Australians doing it but it really is so few that you start to notice the different ways different nationalities deal with problems.

Before you flame me, I am not Australian. I was one of few people who were born on Antarctica.

I agree, but this has been a well known issue where people have been getting hurt. Many have called, emailed, and had their boards sent in like myself only to have the issue pop up again. The truth is Evolve hasn't done a single thing in the design of the remote/board to fix any of these issues, so complaining to them like many have us doesn't usually end up resolving it. Some do have a resolution. But from what I've seen the boards and the remote (radios in both sides) have a huge variance in their tolerances which make them supportable if they have borderline transmission / receive strengths.

People have been complaining to Evolve about this, but this video is good to other riders / future customers that the issues still today persist.

Thing is the distributors have their hands tied, they give feedback to Jeff who owns Evolve in Australia. But its only Jeff who can authorize and make the change and fix these issues. I'm thinking he's just allowing so much to go out the door, but what I see his focus is to push as much to the market as the market can take, which isn't necessarily the best thing you can do for your company name if you want it to grow from positive experiences and customer word of mouth advertising.

  5. To the guy in hospital....Bummer that sucks. Sorry to hear that. I really hope you do not end up in full time pain as I personally live.

To the guy with the long posts...... Send an email to nick in Australia. Just form my interactions with Nick and seeing videos where he does things with Evolve boards I can tell that he puts his face on the Evolve videos because he is proud of his work that he does and he cares about his results. I am certain that if you emailed him and approached him in your email with a friendly tone that any Human appreciates as nobody wants to read angry or ranting emails, and be clear about the issue and keep the initial email short and straight to the point with bullet points as to what you would like to discuss, I am sure he will let you know if he is aware personally of the issue and if he would require more information from you and then no doubt he will do everything he can to figure out any proble,. I imagine if it means something needs replacing that such a thing would need to go through an entire board of people for approval as it is a company and it would be something that may not be so quick to take care of. Making a single change to a design that a company bases their entire business on is no easy task and no quick task. He probably already is in the stages of working on it but at the same time a company can not admit publicly to a problem as they open themselves for lawsuits and call back. Also a company has to weigh up the acceptable percentage of faulty item which any company in the world does, just like any government in the world does when they go to war and any car that hits the road. So they can only say so much but they also are probably doing what they can behind the scenes.

The 'owner' of the company no doubt has alot more to be doing than working on faulty issues with the boards. That is why he hires people with special skill sets. He would have more to do with working with directors, investors, financials and he would oversee things. HE also probably is the guy who finds manufacturers and suppliers to get things done.
Everything in this world that is electronic is going to have issues. We all know this and if we choose to get on a skateboard that is controlled by electronics then we know we are accepting a risk that the electronics can fail at any given time and let's be honest getting on a skateboard with electronics is alot more dangerous than a cell phone but that is a risk we accept, and if it is not then those who are not prepared to take that risk should get a board without electronics. Even planes come down due to faulty electronics.

Try and email Nick directly with your complaint which is believe is the Australian Evolve email with sales at the front. (sales@). I found he is very quick to reply and he obviously cares about his work.

I certainly know every time I get on my board that something could happen at anytime and I really hope it does not. Just like I hope my life saving device works when i use it.

Good luck to fixing your issues. Just do not sugest people do not care. Sometimes they just can not tell one person exactly what they are doing about it because that one person could cause their company a lot of problems by taking their conversation to internet forums and it could also result in the rug being pulled from underneath them and closing their company. Having everyone stop buying their products would stop their revenue and then nothing would ever be fixed, upgraded, developed.

Ask yourself if you owned a company that you sold your house for (You can not buy a house for less than 1.5 million dollars in 70% of Sydney suburbs, the median price for the entire region of sydney for a house is 1 million dollars, very big deal selling your hosue, even though he lives elsewhere just trying to make that point) so if you sold your house to fund a company, would you care if your line of products had a major fault on a percentage of one of the main components? You bet your ass you would care. You bet your ass that it would be one of the biggest stresses in your life and everyday you would wake up feeling sick about how you get it resolved until you had it resolved all while trying to avoid any lawsuits or having to recall everything and your company falling to bits.
I'm sure the owner is not so cold hearted and doesn't care about his customers enough that he doesn't care about this issue. I bet it eating up inside and all while keeping a cool face and his composure.

I have nothing to do with Evolve. I was too scared to use the brakes on my first ride going down a hill with a 15% gradiant that was 400mtrs long. I got the wobbles after the first 100 and then after trying to relax and sort them out a car turned and i lost my composure and those wobles got so wide to each side that I was a few feet from falling short of the grass that I slammed the brakes on in full and flew to the grass smashing my face with the remote in my hand and really hurt myself all because a few minutes before that the brakes showed me how real they were. I was just too scared to sue the brakes and chose a much worse option. A pretty bad experience id say and lucky to not be broken up. But since then I got back on my board and did 30kms last night up and down hills and loving how the brakes would recharge the battery and locing my board more than my boat and my jet skiis.

I think Evolve has an awesome product. i'd like things changed and i probably would of got a bamboo if they would of shipped it to me but im so glad I got evolve and im happy with the service when i complained about an issue with my remote and got a reply the next day and was told what was wrong.

Sorry my message is so long and somehow im going to turn it off so replies dont come to my inbox as I dont want to get flamed for this post but I have read alot about the guys at evolve and I see a company that cares. Even if the male owner of this business did not care and feel sick to his stomach and stressed like i suggested above and if he wasa cold hearted human being, then I am sure the female owner would care because the odds of finding two people who dont care about their product and dont love it like a child would be very rare.

Maybe there is a problem with their international distriutors not following distributor riules which are usually the distributor is responsible for having faulty products returned to the distributor to be tested and once they are found to have a problem they then contact the manufacturer and get it replaced or fixed. Pretty standard agreement between manufacturer and distributor for this type of business. Maybe that is where the problem lies.

While contacting Evolve should be your first point of call, sometimes you do not get the answers you are looking for, and some even get abuse from Evolve, there are many stories about this which I will not go into, but it takes a certain tact when talking about issues, specially for a product you love and want to continue riding. Thats why we helped to produce a little video about customer service, both the good and the bad.

W.Jordan you are right, a certain tact is needed when talking about this issue. I admit that I've posted the video without thinking too much, but what I filmed has happened basically each and every time I used the board so far. I do love this board and I will continue to ride it but I'm a little worried about being thrown off all of a sudden

Yes, and when I bought the brand new remote for my board, a board that had issues turned into a very un-ridable and dangerous board. I couldn't go 100 feet without a drop-out or stuck acceleration. If one side of the communication has a crappy radio connection, its bad, but when both have a bad connection its out of control to say the least.
