Hope this is ok to post here. I just finished doing a refresh on my Bamboo GT because the grip had all but worn off. I could have just sprayed it with Lucid Grip but I fancied a change. I also wanted to go from the AT's to some 107's.

Starting point, all stock with the AT wheels.

Stripped to the deck, ready for sanding.

Partway sanded. The grip came away easily but the pattern would clog up sandpaper rapidly.

    Woodstain in progress..

First few coats of woodstain down...

Starting to look good after several coats of matt lacquer...

Ok so this is my laser cut griptape. I had a bloke on Etsy cut it to a design I did in Illustrator, which is obviously a variation on the Evolve GTX theme.

Laying down the first section. Those tabs between the hexes keep it all in position then I just lift and cut those with a scalpel.

Almost done. Had to hand-cut the E into the circle because the laser cut chap managed to lose that bit.

All done and rebuilt! Complete with ninja turtle Evolve logo. :) I used Bones Red bearings in the Abec 107's. I am still undecided about the Reds, I don't like the fact they only have a dust cover on one side. If I'd known that I would probably have gone with different bearings.
