    Hello,
I'm 6 foot 7 inches tall and weight 260 lbs. Evolve sites says that maximum recommended driver weight is 220 lbs.
I plan to use it mainly for commuting to work (about 6 miles). The road is flat so the torque shouldn't be a problem.

    What do you think?

6 miles on street wheels easy no probs, I even think you would get there with AT wheels on bamboo. Carbon easy on either setup.

    M.Petrik don't worry about it.
I'm a tad smaller frame guy than you and I contacted Evolve.
They said that the weight is fine for me, 102kgr but I should expect a small decrease in performance.
    We should be fine.
Now I just have to get the money to buy a board :p

    Thanks for answers.
So the weight limit (as on their site) is mainly because of the acceleration, hill climbing and range?
I'm fine with with that as there are no hills around and the range should be pretty OK.
One more question about the remote update .... It's only software update, right?

By what I read in here it looks like YES. Software only for now....

I'm wondering if the weight limits were actually more relevant to the last gen of boards.
I imagine it's a standardised figure to ensure accurate and reliable performance benchmarks such as range and hill capacity, as you mentioned.

Increased weights seem more than capable on the new boards, they'll simply have a trade off in factors such as range on a single charge and achievable uphill gradient. On the flats it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in terms of maneuverability. Mark is all over that Bamboo, taking to it like a duck to water.

Re. the remote, there's a firmware upgrade shipping with all new boards from next week apparently. No other news regarding any other upgrades. :)
