Just starting this thread to share my experience building my first evolve battery mod. Bought a cheap bamboo GT the other day that only has 14 cycles on it but the batteries had sat for years and so were useless. I’ve since ordered 50 Samsung 30Q 18650 cells and a few other parts to make the board awesome again. Currently just waiting on a few more bits to arrive and some other custom parts to print on the 3D printer then will have it all done and posted on Friday.
I was thinking of maybe doing a tutorial video on how to do the 5p mod without cutting the deck or cutting the enclosure for people. If anyone would be interested in that, let me know.

image.jpg All the cells are in rows of 5 and taped up using Kapton thermal tape. Next step will be to spot weld the packs to make each pack a pack of 5 cells in parallel.

image.jpg Nickel strips are all cut and ready to be spot welded on.

image.jpg I also carefully removed the stock BMS from the original battery pack and cleaned it up a bit, ready to be soldered to the new pack.

image.jpg I did order a 10s balance lead with pigtails but it turned out that the stock BMS uses a slightly different style of 11 pin plug and so, as much as I tried to cut plastic off the new one, I’m just going to have to cannibalise the old balance lead from the original pack and extend the wires to fit the new pack.

If anyone’s interested, this is what the stock Bamboo GT 10s 1p battery pack looks like.
As far as I can figure out, it’s just 10 3.7v 7000mah cells in series.

if anyone would be interested in the pack, I’d be happy enough to post it out to them (in the uk) as long as they cover postage. The pack is useless to me but maybe not for someone who wants to have it for some other project.
