Motors get louder on AT set up.

  1. Hey guys. I have noticed that the motors are 50% louder on the AT set up. Is this because on the larger wheels they are working harder? I tried to remember how to change the settings in case it was this. How do you get into the settings on the remote again? And what settings do I need on

    A Street Evolve wheels
    B AT Evolve wheels

I believe the reason is as you said, the motors need to put much more torque and are thus louder. You can notice during cruising constant speed that the noise is almost gone leading to that conclusion.

    For wheel settings:
    1. Press left button twice in a row to get to the setup screen
    2. Press right button once to enter wheel setting screen
    3. Use left button to scroll until you find the setting you need
    4. Right button to confirm
    A. Stock street evolve wheels are 83mm 32T
    B. Stock AT wheels are 175mm 66T

remember these settings only change the speed reading for accuracy, nothing else

    I would love quieter motors.
Why are they actually so noisy? I imagine it wastes power too.
I wonder if there are quieter ones on the horizon with the next evolution.

My motors are very quiet. Are you sure you don't have the belts too tight?

The AT setup has larger gears, in the rear compared to the street in order to produce more torque. Hence why its louder, its a different gear ratio which gives more of a grunting / working sound to the motor and drive-train.

However, the noise most likely isn't the motor but rather coming from the drive system (belt, pulleys). Although plastic pulleys are the quietest, also they wear the fastest, they still do make noise.

Nah, its the motors. The previous motor used simlar belts and cog ratios and was much quieter

Motors can have a change in harmonics due to a change in gear ratios, so the motor could be the root of it. Can't rule that out.
