Update: evolve USA is swapping the deck out for me due to the cracks on the top!

    Hey guys,

My board is only 1 week old however I noticed a small crack on the deck underneath where the rear truck meets the board. I realize this is a small crack, but I am concerned about it growing over time and becoming a legit issue considering this board is nearly brand new.

Anyone else have this crack? (It's right by the nut)

hard to tell if it is just a scratch, or actually a little crack, if it is a crack and you are not happy with it, i'm sure they would not have an issue with you sending it back to be swapped over.

It's definitely a crack.seems like it's just in the first layer of the wood.

send your picture to Evolve and check what they suggest. I guess you will be fine as it is not a full crack but as it is a new board better have it looked at.

The majority of board have this, they over tighten the trucks at the assembly line.

I just checked my board and I have no cracks. Just wondering what wheels is everyone running. I am running 97s.

If we hard carve, will it crack too? I'm weighing at around 90kg though. Kinda worry but I've no cracks at the moment but when I flex the board when I'm standing on it, I can hear the sound of the board flexing. I'm currently on the AT wheels and have yet to change to any street wheels yet. Any comment about 97mm 78a?

97mm are awesome, i would say the best street wheels imo no noticeable show down on acceleration, food roll over most things. Still ever the comfort of AT but great fun

Yes Andy. I believe that it is awesome for the 97mm as I've seen really good reviews by people who are using it. Just that I don't know if I wanna the 78a or 75a duels version. That's cause I only have the 78a choice, I would like to try the 75a but it's mostly out of stock everywhere.

what are your opinions about this crack on top of my 8 day old board?

I've reached to evolve USA to see what they think. It does seem odd to me.

is this related to the crack underneath your board? Definately reach out to evolve about this. Unless you dropped something on top of your deck, they should replace this. im kinda disappointed with the crack you outlined on your other thread as i have it too. Paying $1600 for an e board shouldnt have these issues.

I don't think it's related to the small crack underneath. I'm kind of bummed about it. Board is so new, makes me concerned about how it's gonna hold up over time considering it's now only 8 days old. It really makes me wish I just went with the carbon.

I emailed them today. I'll follow up once they respond.

I would be very torn and concerned. Please keep us posted on any progress to see how Evolve handles this. Best to you.

Hey guys, so I sent an email over to the guys here in the US. I got a very quick response. It looks like they have to send my issue out to the manufacturer to see if it's a legit issue or not. I guess they will send my photos? However, I have no idea who the "manufacturer" is. I dunno, I personally feel it's a legit issue - the top crack. However, I am not sure they are going to think so. We will see. I may be stuck with it. 8 days old. Wonder what it will look like in 8 months?

My Bamboo GT had a similar defect on the bottom when I received it. I just covered it with a sticker and have been riding it as hard as my fat old ass can for 2 months now! Guess what? It's fine!! Ride On!!
