So we had a sprinkling of fresh juicy pow down in Devon today and decided it would be good to tear some fresh tracks through the village.

Travelled about 5 feet and crack......Motor shaft gear sheared off.

Board is quite new so still in warranty, I’ve already fired an email off to evolve so we’ll see what they say tomorrow.

The prospect of having to wait days to get it fixed fills me with dread (it gets seriously addictive this skateboarding- now i’ll have to resign to actually walking the dog again)

Am wondering about ordering some spare parts when I speak to evolve.

Do others have and advice on what parts will get consumed over time.

Belts, gears and inner tubes seems a sensible place to start as long as they are not too spenny! £££

  4. Hmm,
    I m 85kg,
It doesn't make sense how is it possible to snap the motor shaft especially of this size,
Or it could be just one of those shafts which skipped the quality check before being put together!!!!

Evolve uk have been in touch first thing this morning, I have to say there service is excellent. Apparently they've never seen this part break before. This motor pinion isn't even available to order so they've agreed to collect the motor and fit a replacement motor pinion from another motor. Does mean I'm without my board for a week, but I can live with that.

Quite re-assured really that these are not popping off regularly. I think the cold yesterday -5C may have been a contributing factor.

Mostly just gutted I missed those fresh tracks as where I live this was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity.
