Hey Evolve forums, I have found one of my belt sits slightly off the drive gear. If you put it back, it finds a neutral position back at this point. Any suggestions?

likey to do with position of washers (or speed rings as them call them) - is there a video or support doc on their website - how to install the AT kit ? you could use this as a reference to see how many speed rings go where etc.

I beleive the belt is designed to be slightly away from the edge so that it doesn't cause it to fray. Mine looks exactly the same as your picture. As long as it does slip or move further towards the middle I think you are alright. Hope that helps.

Thanks Julian, all Speed rings seem to be in the right place, 1st silver drive washer, 2nd driver gear itself, 3rd black washer, 4th wheel with bearings and floating washer between them, 5th black washer, 6th wheel nut.

The other belt sits almost flush on the other side so I was just wondering. Seems to be normal compared to your board's so no worries. File 12-12-2016, 19 32 07.jpeg

    Thanks for the replies everybody!

I'm glad someone else posted about this. I have the same issue when i installed on my CGT. I am thinking that it is normal, as i didn't notice any adverse effects when riding. I would like to hear from evolve on this though.

I have the exact same issue. On one wheel the belt is flush with the drive gear. On the other wheel it's slightly off the edge.

So after 700km and changing the wheels several times from AT to street, I have had no noticeable effects from this belt position. I am sure if the belt sat flush it would have more traction meaning less wear but it just seems of little significance.

    Just keep on rollin....

The alignment or in/out shift of the motor shaft plays a huge part of lining up the belt with the wheel pulley. If you look at the motor bearing thread, you can slide the motor shaft in and out any number of millimeters either direction, and when taking the motor apart you have to mark the shaft where everything is lined up roughly or else you'll get wonky belts like in this pic above regarding this thread. That in turn can push your drive gear in or out if its not in spec. I'm sure Evolve doesn't care about lining these things up right, hence why the belts are randomly where they are. Honestly its somebody in China building the motors, Evolve buys them and just tosses them on the board. Does a quick test on the board and sends them out to the customer.

Mine does the same, and looks about the same as the first photo in this thread, but it actually starts to rub ever so slightly on allen key screws that actually hold the motor in. Not only does this make more noise but will probably kill my belt life.

I have made literally dozens of attempts to reposition the motor and changing belt tension, changing belts, changing hubs. The only time i got it to do anything different just made the belt go in the other direction and rub on the belt cover. I couldnt find the middle ground.

This is pretty ****. p.s. the board is 2 days old.

    Hello,

I also had a problem with the belt position on my Evolve Bamboo GTX AT. My problem was that my truck bolt was a little bit bended. Replacing the truck with a new one solved the problem and now both belts are aligned correctly.

Photo of the bended rear truck:

In my opinion evolve trucks are of poor quality. Once I slided on leaves my front truck finished like that:
