Received my board yesterday... my question now is... how can I see if I have the new or still the old remote?? is there a serial or model number I can check to verify??

nope, it will say "V2" in the settings menu, but you will know straight away if you are able to go up and down though the speed setting, without having to cycle through them in order. Hope this helps, if you just got your board you should have the latest remote.

I don't want the new remote in the future if it changes modes down when battery gets low.
    Has this been confirmed?

How do you get up the hill or into the wind if it changes to eco. I'd rather smash the hill and go flat that not be able to go up the hill but have battery left.

yea it definitely drops down to eco if you get below a certain percentage remaining - this can also happen during voltage drop if you are "giving it" in fast mode during acceleration (and the battery is already on the lowish side) - happened to me first day I rode this week

Damn. I wonder if the original remote can still be purchased?
I would have bought another spare. I don't want it changing modes on me.
What's the point of that? Eco literally can't go into wind or up hills.

I think its there to prevent battery damage - but yea may mean more walking up hills

Its cool, stopped the dreaded cut out if your going full peg and not watching the battery percentage. I'm much more comfortable skating with it tbh. Before I was always a bit weary under 20%.

It's not a concern I have gone up hills and it will stay in gt mode even in the single digits on battery but when releasing it will go into Eco.

Yes but the flip side of that for the rest of us with the beta test remotes is that we either have to risk cut outs or battery damage if we don't keep an eye on the percentage....or stump up for the new remote.... that's just not right after only 12 weeks of owning the board. I'm all for continuous improvement but if that improvement is seen as required after that short a time then clearly it should have been there in the first place and Evolve should do something for the V1 remote owners. Comments Jeff?

I think it would be a solid move to the community for Evolve to at least give old remote owners a discounted upgrade.
