Following on from the other "Deck Swap Concerns" thread, it would be cool for anyone who has done a deck swap on their Bamboo to list the deck here, and maybe note any issues they had. I've looked at a lot of decks on line, but it's always hard to gauge whether their stiffness and shape are suitable.

Someone on Boosted Reddit has just posted a pic which looks to be a DB Coreflex Compound drop through deck. I assume it's their "flex 3" model which is the stiffest. The rear truck is top mounted, I assume to avoid the motors, while the front truck is drop through

Bump to see if there's any new swaps people can share.

I have a small crack in my Carbon GT. I'm ordering 2 Bamboo GT battery cases and going to do a 40-43in drop thru deck swap. Re-using my Carbon GT battery til I build one and same with the motor controller/heatsink.

Got the DB Paradigm 41" in mind. Only issue is it has a sharper cut to it, and I'm AT only now so there's some concern for clearance. Truck holes seem far enough for it not to be an issue though.

The other deck I have in mind is a Sector 9 Meridian which has almost the same cut/shape as the Bamboo GT deck, just longer. I just worry it's not as stiff as described.

I'll post an update in the next couple weeks once I choose a deck and start the swap.

Edit: From what i can gather so far, the biggest concern is making sure you have enough if a flat surface for the case, good gradual cuts that aren't too wide (wheel rub), and making sure there's no more than 2.5 inches extended off the tail from the trucks so the motors have clearance. Beyond that, if you're riding skate wheels then you'll also want to make sure you don't get something with too much drop.

I swapped my bamboo deck when the original failed and I needed something while waiting for a replacement. I purchased a cheap longboard and drilled out the screw holes in line with the battery compartment. I screwed everything together tightly, and there were no issues whatsoever.

I was desperate for a tail to make commuting a little easier. So after some research on DIY recommended boards, I went with the Earthwing Superglider. The board is stiff but still has great flex for carving and to take the bumps. It is also a little shorter which also helps with commuting. It is not a drop through deck which concerned me originally. However after riding it for 4+months i love it. I may one day do a cut out to make it a drop through, but I need to do some research on the strength of the mount if i do that.
All components fit perfectly, it's tight but no issues.

I have also done some waterproofing around the battery case (nothing to the motor or motor vents).
It's by no means a waterproof board but just makes me a little less concerned by the odd puddle.
