Why ask a question you can get the answer from the site you order your board from?!?

Because information on static sites aren't necessarily always up to date.

Some people may not realise that information is on the site at all.

When there's a knowledgable community available where you know there are others that may have had the same questions as you in the past, it makes sense to pose that question to those people to see what their answer is.

Sometimes you want the answer from actual users as opposed to what the manufacturer or seller has to say on the official website.

Sometimes you want to hear as many peoples opinions on a topic as possible.

Sometimes you want to start an actual discussion revolving around that piece of information, in addition to simply finding a single finite answer.

Asking the question on a forum allows you to engage with other users and potentially expand upon the original context of the question allowing you to learn much more than just reading the main site.

    There's lots of reasons :)

Exactly Pedro! There's always someone out there with a different perspective than you, and it's not always easy to anticipate where they're coming from or what their position may be. Putting the question out to the community opens that up for all applicable answers :)
