Hey Guys and Gals, I am new here .Buying my first electric board [GT Bamboo]. I am one of the older guys at 50 y/o ,Skated every day when i was younger but i have not been on a board in 25 years . I skated skateparks, ramps ,street etc .
    A Little about me
I still rollerblade pretty good and go up to the Ice rink and fly around once in awhile as i am not too bad at that either . Have played roller hockey along time ago and more recently ice hockey . Anyways... Just wanted to say hi and i am waiting for my board to arrive . i still have one of my original skateboards [Powerflex Bobby Valdez model with tracker trucks and slime ball wheels] So Should i go with the 97 Green wheels or the 107 wheels on my Gt Bamboo ?? Anyone from near Venice Florida ???

Welcome to the Forum and good choice with the Bamboo GT, I'm sure with all your past experiences you are gonna love your board. From my own experience, having used Evolve's own 83's (not the best choice these days), Abec 11 97's & now the Abec 11 107's, I would most definitely say get the 107's. They are absolutely incredible wheels, as are the 97's, but they offer an even plusher ride with the added advantage that they give the board way more Free Roll than anything else out there! The big advantage of that is the ability to coast a hell of a lot more, which in turn gives you even more range/less toll on the electrics. Added to that, the extra diameter and the urethane compound used can cope with pretty much any uneven surfaces you are likely to come across, but get onto a smooth surface and they just glide like nothing else!

Nice One! You won't regret it. I do recommend getting all the safety gear though, helmet, elbow & knee pads. Top speed with those 107 wheels is FAST!

Good to hear you are taking steps on safe riding, especially with a helmet (that is a must in my opinion). I too ride on my own and have often thought it would be great to ride in a group. Where I live, the number of e-skates is still very low, so maybe in time it will happen. As for the bearings choice, I am using Bones Swiss, which I can highly recommend and Bronson G3 would also be an excellent choice. Both are a big step up from the standard Evolve bearings, without being over the top expensive.

Cool, Thanks for all the help. Too bad we don't live near each other , would be great to ride together .How long have you been riding the electric board

No problem, happy to offer help to the community and new riders in particular. Yeah, the distance between us (Florida to New Zealand) is huge, but at least we have our age group in common. I too am an older rider and got the Carbon GT for my 56th birthday last February!

You ride safe too, we still carry on doing the stuff that keeps us feeling young but we don't heal as quickly when the inevitable tumble happens. I always pad up as well as using a full face Ruroc! Anytime you want to hit me up for any advice/info at all that's fine by me.
