Getting closer!!! Wow they are massive.

It’s almost that time. They look pretty big on the gtx. What do you guys think?!

The Evolve Weekly update at the weekend mentioned that they would have more details in this week's video update! I reckon they will then follow up with online availability from HQ, after this weekend's video announcement/details are made public.

Hey, just letting you guys know that I got to try out the New Superfly's earlier today on my Carbon GT with some great results. I was previously running Abec 97's with 32T gearing and so I'm initially using the same 32T gearing at the moment but will also try the 38T set up I have at some point. I have to say that going straight to the 107's from the 97's with the same gearing, gave me a good start point for a true comparison and there is notably, a big difference! I feel this is due to the large increase in contact patch, which is actually a 22mm total gain in extra urethane rolling over the surface you are riding on. The board to me, immediately felt different & it took the first 10 mins of my ride to get a feel for the much wider stance. Having said that, these wheels really do Roll & Roll, exactly as stated in the latest Evolve Weekly update! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21efrbE1gX8 You can now actually find yourself able to let the throttle settle in the neutral position from time to time & free-roll, which is obviously a huge benefit to battery life as well. Comfort wise, it goes without saying, that the New Reflex formula absorbs cracks & small irregularities even better than the 97's with the increased diameter also helping to Roll over small stones etc. The grip is also fantastic, which gives confidence when carving or turning sharply. Super impressed with the first ride on these Abec 11 107's, can't wait to get out again tomorrow for another session. Anyone thinking of getting either the Abec Lime Green or the Evolve Black version of these wheels should just go for it! You won't regret it.

 

Awesome!!! Thanks for the update. I have a set ordered with the 38t gears. I hope the acceleration feels the same or slightly quicker with the 38t/107mm as compared to the 32t/97mm. If my math is right it should have a little more punch. Question, just to clarify, so do you feel like you can carve harder before you start to slide with the 107’s?

 

Will have a better idea when I go out again most probably tomorrow, as today's ride was more of an initial impression so I did not get to go really hard out. I would expect that you are able to carve harder before they break traction, due to the extra urethane in contact with the road. Having said that, the reflex formula also adds a different feel to the ride so more time is needed to give a conclusive answer. This short video by SoCal Legend, gives a visual idea of a GTX carving on them (at 0.32mins) and will be followed up with a full review shortly!

 

Thanks fbhb, I'd love to hear how you feel about the 107's on the carbon vs the gtx. And stability at speed with the gtx and smoothness over rough surfaces with the carbon.

@D5GRVTY the video I linked to was not my video, it was by SoCal Legend. I only own the Carbon GT myself, so I'm unable to provide any comparisons in that area. SoCal Legend stated in the comments that they will follow up the video with a full review, so you need to keep an eye out for the next video for more details!

Mine arrived today and looking forward to trying them out this afternoon!

 

I put my order in yesterday, in my excitement during ordering I didnt even enter my shipping address.... I quickly phoned them and corrected

 

After a few weeks of having these giant slabs of thane.... Wow .. just wow.
I would highly recommend these.
I changed from AT so I was a bit concerned about comfort (15-25km ride every day) but I was pleasantly surprised.

Im just using the 32t gear at the moment and I was planning on upgrading as there is alot of torque that vanishes, but it feels great! Accel is not so jerky and I have the confidence to actually use the brakes alot more often.

 

Matt, are you on a carbon or a bamboo board?

 

brand spankin new GTX and a set of these wheels with 38t drives comming for me this week.
