shipping Carbon GT oversea

Hi I'm moving overseas from US to Philippines and was wondering if anyone has experience shipping their board abroad.
Planning to remove the battery from the board but keep it in the same box and have it shipped via cargo. The guy at the store suggested it but I was thinking that it might be easy for them to confiscate just the battery leaving me with just the board.
I scratched the idea of sending it through Fedex, UPS, DHL, etc. for obviously the battery but maybe i'm wrong and someone out there had experience shipping through them with no problem?
