Drill a big hole in a carbon GT for a bike lock

I want to drill a hole in my carbon GT for a kryptonite U lock.

I live in Oakland, people steal **** here. I'd like to be able to ride to the gym and lock the board to the bike racks outside, but any lock config I can think of can be thwarted by taking the trucks off. It's an unlikely scenario due to the proximity of the bike racks to the entrance and roving security, but I'd rather not find out just how industrious these thieves can be.

Any contraindications to drilling a hole in the carbon deck, maybe a half to three quarters of an inch in diameter? I figure a U lock through the hole would be the most secure option (besides not riding it to the gym, which I have already thought of, thank you).

I'd be happy to create another forum where you can call me an idiot, would appreciate mainly constructive feedback here.

I'm not the expert on drilling holes here, but couldn't you just give it to the front desk each time that you wanted to leave it around?

I went to an off-broadway show and they held my bamboo gt for free (and charged my remote!)

I just assume that if they did that for everyone there could potentially be a pile of **** behind the desk, and they wouldn't want to be liable for any of it. But that is a good idea.

Where exactly is there room to drill a hole through a CGT deck? I’d be afraid of creating a stress riser and the board failing catastrophically as you ride it.

I haven't figured out the best place for it, but that was a concern. I think if the integrity of the deck failed it wouldn't happen all at once unless I was doing something insane. I'd probably notice. I think a few inches from the edge on the part that slants up would be the best bet. It would be a smaller hole than where the trucks are bolted, and that is a thinner piece of the deck as it is recessed, as well as where the load is distributed on a smaller width of the deck (neck of the skateboard).
