Anyone find a bag that will protect this board and can be used for plane travel? Please post a link to some case options if you have any. Thanks.

I am afraid you can't take the Evolve longboard as a luggage, because of the huge battery - safety risk. Anyway, Evolve sells a board cover (link), a sling bag (link) and a backpack (link). Hope this helps.

It would be cool if at some point Evolve has a network of authorized rental locations, so when you do travel without your board you can still use them.

Or have a battery rental program. So you can travel with your board, and get the battery sourced locally.

If I ship the battery via FedEx to my destination will I be able to fly with the carbon GT then? This question is for both domestic and international flights. I'm sure I will have to open the lid to prove that the battery is not in there which I have no problem doing

What are the cost for shipping as I guess this could become expensive. Board on the plane might be charged as EXCEPTIONAL luggage and shipping a large battery might also have FedEx to provide you with an extra charge?

Not sure what they would charge for the board. The hope is to be able to check it in as any other checked baggage. With the battery it weighs 21lbs on the AT setup so without the battery and enclosed in an appropriate carrying case the weight won't be an issue. I will even take off the wheels and trucks if it might make a difference. I would leave the trucks and wheels in the case but perhaps without them on it would look less questionable? Not sure if that one but just a thought.

As for the battery it shouldn't cost too much at all. The weight of the battery alone will be 10 lbs or less. I'm shipping items from NY to Florida all the time using my works business account and it is super cheap. Last item I shipped was in a 12x12x6 box weighing 15 lbs and that was $11.25 one way 3 day shipping. I plan on making trips from NY to LA and San Fran next year so the cost would be for round trips to those destinations. If this is do- able then I would save a ton on not having to rent a car.
