I don't think a solar panel the size of the deck would really grab enough energy to keep you going at the rate it consumes it.

    Nice thought though!

Maybe if Elon Musk is able to push the tech further forward, what with his Solar City acquisition, then perhaps built in solar tech will be viable one day...

Why would you float a successful company that is doing great things on there own and setting up distribution networks around the world?
Only to have to share profit with investors and pass decisions through a board?

The only reason companies do this is to raise capital to help grow. Seems like Evolve has already done a pretty good job of this them self!

Not saying I agree with OP, but giving up control of a company and voting rights doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with an IPO these days.

Case in point refer to the tech behemoths Facebook and Snapchat.

Mark Zuckerburg has retained control of his company all these years, despite numerous rounds.

And even just this week, SNAP went public and haven't offered any voting shares.

CEO Evan Spiegel’s Snap ownership is worth about $3.5 billion

Obviously they're not quite comparable is size in the grand scheme of things, but it's interesting to see how things are changing and investors are investing in the founder themselves and the decisions they make, as opposed to the whole company and its current state.
