Large range drop after heavy riding

Hi, I've had a trip on some island which was quite hilly and I really rode hard.

After I came back home I realized that board feels slightly weaker and soon I discovered that battery seems to drain waaaay faster then normal. doing a route that normally I came back from with 99% charge now has me back with 80% charge.

I checked battery cell charge in the hidden menu, and seems ok. 40.5-41v
My second guess is that something is wrong with the motors/bearings/friction so I checked motor power usage from the hidden menu.

No load, spinning full speed, one motor is using 0.5-1A and the other 1-2A
When riding tho, I don't notice a huge difference in motor power usage, should write down the numbers.

Is there anything else that could be an issue? Is it possible for batteries to lose their capacity if under too much strain?

    Thanks!

I'd check to ensure the pack is balanced.... Evolve uses cheap chinese batteries, so its no surprise what you're seeing. Hence the voltage drops as one of the side effects of cheap batteries. But hey, they make a great margin on it. Hopefully its just an out of balance pack for you.

    Thanks, but as I said,

You're welcome, but as I said you need to check the balancing. That's not the balancing screen, but rather the voltage screen. And if the deviation / spread between the cells is minimal, then its a worn pack.

Evolve has a per cell charge hidden menu (not the normal battery voltage menu)
    looks like so,

isn't this enough to check for the balance issues?
Its a 10s4p so I guess this is measuring per block of 4 parallel cells.

maybe their discharge rate is different, I'll check after riding.

How did you get to that menu?

Correct, this is the battery balancing menu. This isn't fully charged, is it? Should be around 41/41v at full charge. The balancing numbers don't mean anything unless its been fully charged. I usually allow my boards to sit overnight to balance as well.... You can charge until its full, check your balancing. Then allow the board to sit over night and compare to see if the cells have come closer in their deviation.

One of your motors magnets is bad from the heat of the long ride. Perhaps both are bad but one is worse than the other. If you feel motors getting warm you have your answer. Time for new motors would be my guess.

First I would pull off the belts and check all bearings and such for drag.

This is a very common question, google evolve hidden menu, I'm sure its mentioned on the forums.

yup I just googled an example, this is not my photo, yeah, my thing is balanced when charged.

Yes I checked the bearings, I mean, given they push a 65kg human, I don't think motors care about bearings much, unless they are really super broken or clogged..

Ok, wow. this motor magnet thing sounds like a plausible scenario, I didn't know this can happen to motors.
They do get super warm recently, but the summer came so its hard for me to compare.

    Thanks!

wow, just noticed the pulley almost destroyed. I guess this shouldn't be the reason for the battery usage, but they need replacement for sure

I would replace both pinions and belts and see if that is your problem.
