New GTR (1) Carbon Rider

Hey guys I finally decided to take the plunge and get my first electric board.. I found a Evolve GTR Carbon online for 300 bucks because it didn't have a working remote... I have it it's just all messed up .. anyways I still haven't ridden it yet .. I need to get a remote for it but from what I've read I should upgrade to the new phase remote... But there are multiple ones and not sure which one mine uses as the evolve guys said I could use the new one if I upgraded my board??? I'm really kinda lost and just wanted to reach out and find out first of all if I have a gen 1 (what I think it is) or a gen 2 and what remote I can get to finally ride it... And then also what upgrades or things I should put in it like a bash guard or ?? Thanks in advance for your time and help!
