Hello all, nice to join the community!

I wanted to hear your opinion on safety and share my approach.

In my opinion a helmet is a must, I'm sure you all can agree. Back and front lights too for visibility. And the electrical horn to warn people getting in the way. ⛑ This is my essentials for safe riding during day / night.

Find my current solution (see pic) but the light/horn on top is very bulky and looks odd... How would you solve these main concerns?

My set up is good because all lights are rechargeable and removable but does look odd.

Also for the horn, I must reach for my helmet strap which takes 3s~, doesn't feel long but can be too long if a pedestrian is jumping in front... I just can't figure out a way to keep it closer to hands... Any feedback / ideas welcome!

P.s. I'm not a fan of lights on the board as cars won't see it well. It's too low.

I was thinking of getting a high visibility jacket for night riding.

I just bought a light for helmet for same reasons and I can confirm that board lights are good but not too useful for seeing where you are going as too close to ground. I'll post a pic of my helmet when my light arrives from China - ebay pic attached for now Screen Shot 2018-05-01 at 3.36.41 pm.png

I call my helmet dorkus maximus. The mirror is really helpful. $6 lights—cheap rechargeable and light. Easily detachable; on eBay. I have them on my board too.

Haha, I love the mirror. Where did you buy it from?

eBay or amazon... i liked that it was cheap and easily removable with a stick on plate for the helmet

The lights I use are mounted on the board so you might reject my setup. They do however project plenty of light, I think, for all to see. I got the Bright Eyes Helios (on Amazon)1600 lumens on the front and the Thunderbolt tail light from Evolve. I made a little light mount for the front headlight. It works great.
