Got my r2 remote last week and I really like it. The only problem is that it unpairs itsself when I turn it off. So I have to re pair every time. Anyone else experiencing this? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Got my remote at week as well, not had chance to test it out properly yet because of work and weather but every time I switch it on it pairs within a few seconds. The only thing I can think of trying is to change from V1 to V2 or vice versa on the remote , there's a video on YouTube that evolve have put on how to do this, hope this helps, let me know

Thanks for the reply, I have tried switching between v1 and v2. It only pairs for v2. Everything works fine then doesn't find the board next time i turn it on. I do love the new remote but it's a bit annannoy having to do the paring ever time.

Great idea, I'm in aylestone. Tent to use the great central way and the canal towpath quite a lot. I think the new remote will actually make town riding better too so much more control. Where abouts in Leicester are you from?

Must be some good places somewhere between Harborough and here. Definitely have to get something sorted when the weather gets better hopefully won't be too long now.

    Hi Jamiesnew
We have 2 boards in our house both using R2 remotes and both once paired stay paired. Speaking from experience the Evolve guys at Dartford always give superb customer service/ support so will sort the issue for you immediately I’m sure.

Thanks for the info. Yes I'd emailed them and they are going to sort it out for me. I think there is just something not quite right with it. Once it is paired it's amazing, such a big improvement over the last one.

Got a replacement R2 after the battery drain problem and this new remote seems to intermittently lose it’s pairing. Having seen this thread I contacted Evolve and they gave me a ‘sequence’ to ensure the board stays paired when you turn everything back on again. That didn’t work so I’m not posting it. After a bit of trial and error, this does seem to work. Keen for you guys to try it and report back. Failing that, this one may need to go back.

So, assuming the remote is not paired.
    1. Turn board on, wait 5s
    2. Turn R2 remote on
    3. Press and hold Button 1 (Top) for a second or 2 until antenna symbol stays solid - paired.

    Shutting down
    1. Witn R2 remote in gear (Slow/EcoFast/GT), turn off board
    2. R2 remote should vibrate 3 times and drop into safe mode
    3. Then turn off remote

    Powering up
    1. Turn on board, wait 5s
    2. Turn on R2 remote - now should stay paired.

    Let me know...

Thanks for sharing the info. I've just been and tried so I'll see if it stays paired this time and I'll report back.

Cheers for the info mine would not pair this morning leaving me with having to use it as a normal none powered skate board for 3 miles lol
You fix seems to work nice one bud.

Further to this. Unfortunately my ‘fix’ isn’t bulletproof as mine dropped the pairing again a couple of times this week. Will be dropping into Evolve (UK) to swap it over... again!

Last bit of info. If the board has dropped the pairing, you re-pair it by pressing the top button until the antenna symbol starts flashing. With the older remote pairing happened almost immediately. With the R2, the flashing symbol may lead you to think that it can’t find the board. Leave it flashing. Apparently there are many more channels that the remote scans. It can take up to 20s or more, but should eventually pair.

Tried, but not staying paired. It does always re pair eventually but definitely at least 30s or so. They have offered to replace it for me at evolve uk, so I think that is what I will have to do. Even with this I am still really impressed with the new remote.

I haven't had any dropped connection issues with my R2 - but I did notice that sometimes it won't auto-sync when starting the board/remote up. I thought this was just because I keep switching the remote between boards (I have one R2 remote and two boards ATM).

When pairing with a board for the first time I follow the usual steps on powering on the board first, then the remote, then pair.

I found that when powering-on with a board that is already paired that if I turn the remote on first, then turn on the board it will connect right away. Maybe give that a try?
