    Hi All, Newbie here...

Ok. I have the Carbon Model ( Non GT). All good so far but late I've been having issues with charging.

When I plug the Charger in the Power pack illuminates Green and then plug into the Board it goes Red. Problem is that it stays RED no matter how long I leave it plugged in. Wondering if I have a battery issue? Seems to Run OK.

Im not sure how long Charging is supposed to take . The Website has no Guideline, neither does the manual. Not conducive to good battery life without that. Board Runs ok apart from that.

There is a a secondary Issue. Where the wires pass through the metal Gland from the motor, the wires are getting damaged. I notice that the board would brake all of a sudden. I Disconnected the motor and found that some of the wires outer casing had worn through and were either shorting on the Metal gland or were touching other wires within the loom. As I'm an electrician I was able to do a repair. I don't believe a Metal Gland is a good idea for starters . Along with this the aperture for the wires is far to small therefore you can only expect an erosion issue. A better idea would have been to use male and female connectors within the Loom for easy connection/disconnection. Anyone else had this issue.

Normal charging with slow charger on a Non GT model can take up to 6 hours. Could be a faulty charger,

I was concerned about leaving it charging while I wasn't home. I left it on overnight (red LED) and this morn LED was green so appears OK. Thanks for reply

Interesting insight Jimmy Recard, do you have any photos to help illustrate what you mean?

If you've got any ideas on how to improve the design, especially with your electrical background then feel free to make a post in the ideas and suggestions forum outlining how you think it could be improved. It would be great to hear your thoughts.

Ummm. Your supposed to plug the charger on to the board first then to the wall. It states it on the instructions. Maybe a reason it says that.. just a thought

  7. I'd *really* love evolve (if they haven't already) to hire electricians/instrument techs on their next board.. so many minor issues related to bluetooth, wiring, interference etc.. :/

Any other issues with your gen2 carbon? I'm currently trying to troubleshoot an issue with the BMS / board turning off / cutting-out mid ride.
