Board connector name?

    Hey All,

Recently I have found that one of the smaller wires running from one of the engines to the main circuit board has wriggled out of its crimp. I have temporarily fixed this issue but I would like to know the name of the plugs so I can order some new pins just in case I have issues in the future. It looks like it is the same as the one on the carbon GT.

Thanks for any suggestions, also a big thanks to Alex for creating this forum.

    Thanks Nick :)

It looks like a 5 way latch housing. I'm not sure what the exact specs are though, the electronics part of this is still quite new to me..

Perhaps someone else can jump in and confirm

looks like one of he HAL connectors to the board, I have a broken motor myself, Evolve wanted to send out the new motor with wires for me to install, but those wires are so thin, I can see them failing again. I will be sending it back in for them to fix it for me. I believe i had the same thing happen, the red wire on one of the HAL connectors came lose. it could be had crimping, or just the the wires are so thin, and any pressure on them will cause it to come apart. I might ask them to apply some sort of glue or tape to make it stronge, sending boards back is just annoying. 20161014_131908.jpg

Cheers for that link Alex, that does look pretty similar.

W.Jordan, yep exact same problem, in my case the crimp failed and the wire just fell out, it seamed to me that the red wire was just a little bit too short.

The metal crimp will slide out if you lift the upper white clip. then RE crimp the wire and slide back in.
Possibly loose trucks. sharp carving and restriction in length of cord by being held by the plastic motor cable holder leads to pulling.
I don't think all the wires are always the same length which leads one to susceptible to pull out first.

it would be good to see a fix/prevention for this, got mine fixed, and if it was out of warranty you are looking at a $189 AUD to get the motor and attached cables swapped. Longer wires and more secure connectors could work.

I think Paul is correct, My fix was to splice an extra 3cm of wiring into the engine loom just after the plug, I think it should be a permanent solution. I think the connectors are fine, but they can be a bit of a pain to remove.

the plastic connectors are fine, but the wires seen to not have enough hold the way they are made, if it happens to mine again, i think i will be fixing it myself, and making sure there they are secured to the connector tightly.

Yep a little bit of solder should help you out.

Yep. extended and solder. and extra cable ties to stop all the wires being pulled through .

Just don't solder too far down. the pins still need to enter without pressure.
