Warning on Remote

Have had Bamboo AT for over a year now and today while cruising along I got a red flashing warning on remote that said “Maint Bat!” Cycled remote and still there. Turned board on and off and that seemed to fix it. Is this a sign that battery is failing? It’s been unusually cold lately and my mileage per run is way down from what it used to be. Only getting about 6-7 miles max on a charge, sometimes less. Thought Evolve used to sell replacement batteries as an accessory it can’t find it on their site (USA) anymore. Anyone else ever gotten this light and what does it mean? Thanks. Will take a pix of screen next time it happens, although am waiting for R2 remote to arrive in next couple of weeks.

Hey Pacop, I got a msg like that late Oct early Nov. To check your battery voltages (With your remote and board on) on your remote press the left button twice quickly. This will get you into the options screen. Now go to the more info screen and press the right button twice quickly then hold the left button. This should show individual battery voltages. If one voltage is way different that the others you have a problem. Evolve told me to leave the board charging for 8-10 hrs if I ever have an unbalanced battery pack. Hope this helps and stay warm Sir,

Doesn't the charger stop charging once the light turns green ..?

I can’t say that I know. I was told by leaving the battery on the charge you would be “balancing the pack” if you have a problem with one cell being out of balance.

In general no, power still flows to the batteries and is dissipated via heat. That's why your charger gets extra hot if you leave it on for a while after charge. Cell damage is a side effect if you do this enough.
