I’m onto my second r2 remote (1st one had even more problems) & still having issues with it pairing consistently.
This second one works well when connected, really smooth & im getting use to it, but still need to carry old original remote so I don’t get stranded.
Note: Old remote works seemlessly with the GT board.

    What could the problem be?

No idea man - my R2 works flawlessly, never had a dropped connection.

Do you have your phone on you when you are using it? I found that I had to turn the wifi off on my phone for the old remote to work properly, not the case with my R2. Maybe your specific phone and R2 remote just don't get along.

Yeah not to sure what’s going on, evolve are working through it with me, but as yet no luck changing settings to get it to work. Old remote still works fine

Oh I think I read your post wrong - you aren't having problems with it dropping connection while riding, but with it pairing when you start the board up right?

I kinda had the same issue. I found that some times I would power up and the board/remote wouldn't pair right away and I'd have to re-pair them and it would take like 30 seconds to 1 minute to pair.

I seem to have fixed them problem by just making sure to turn the remote on first, waiting a few seconds, then turning the board on. This is after the board and remote are already paired and I've turned them off.

  6. i been in surface and flying rc hobby for years, and i always use to turn on the transmitter first then the receiver on the rig or plane or whatever..evolve official videos always show the remote and board binding procedure other way around like rx first and tx later,,,
    kind of weird to me...

ya agreed. I follow their procedure when pairing - but once paired I've had success turning on the remote first. I also typically turn off the remote first, then the board if that makes any difference.

  8. if u ask me i would say the board first and then remote or rx first then tx...

My remote doesn’t want to stay paired, sometimes when I turn the remote on, I have to re-pair it but restarting the board and the remote several times.

I had a few different issues, trigger, connecting and not holding a charge. Went to Evolve factory and they put in a new board but also mentioned they would upgrade the firmware. Seems they have an upgrade but not sure if local distributors can apply the firmware. Now my remote connects so flawlessly. I turn on board then remote and within a second it is connected every time.
