M self is extremely... I almost don't want to ride it haha...

Example, The motors are so exposed that I'm so uncertain about how much splash and rain they could take.. should i "water proof" the board or is it ok anyway? (Live in Sweden, so a lot of rain...)

I wouldn't ride it in the rain. You are bound to have issues if you do since it was never meant to be ridden in the rain.

However, if you still want to go forward with riding in the rain, ill tell you my experience.

I rode mine in light rain once. I found that if you kept the board in motion, it prevents water from getting inside the motors where the holes are. It is definitely NOT a fool proof plan, but it does work in light rain. However, you have to consider that It can still possibly get through the gap by the motor mount.

Before taking it out, I also tightened down the screws on the top lid as well. While I was riding (approximately 8ish miles) the top of my board quickly accumulated a big puddle of water. First thing I did when I got to my destination was drying off the board with a towel, then opening the top lid. Surprisingly, the only water that went through was the water that was around the lining of the lid when I opened it up. Other than that, it was bone dry. Dont let that make you believe that it is water proof/ resistant to getting water inside. I probably wouldnt trust that foam lining over time.

The only real weak spot that I found was the power switch. After I got back, I found that the board wouldnt turn on anymore. It sure didnt make sense that the board was dead from water because none of it even made it to the inside. I already knew that the power switch was the culprit though, so I used my DataVac Blower to get it dry and the power turned on immediately. I used some leftover silicon hydrophobic grease and shoved a bunch in the button and took it out for a ride and the problem was fixed. No more water got inside the button.

What to look out for: Rust...... unfortunately, even if the board was somehow water proof, in no time at all things will start to get rusty.

I completly took apart my board that day and dried everything metal that was exposed (screws, nuts, bearings, etc). It wasn't even a full 24 hours, and it already started rusting. I cleaned off all the rust then oiled up all my exposed metals to prevent future rust.

Oh, and one last note. If you decide to ride in the rain. Just know it isn't going to be pleasant. I had dirt and mud all over myself and my face. They should make optional mud guards. It'd be pretty useful for some of us.

Thanks! That was very informative. :) how about when you starting riding your board? Do you firmly put it down, and trigger the remote, or kind of run and jump on with speed and trigger the remote?

The second alternative i think was the best feeling back in the days with longboard/skateboard. Run and jump on with speed. Unfortunately the motors on Evolve skateboards is blocking this opportunity.. Maybe start with revers with the motor in the front then slide it over (overkill riding :p )

I always do a hard push start. I figure that it put a bit less strain on the motors and it saves the battery (even if its just a little) from accelerating at a full stop.

I have absolutely no doubt in the motors being stressed though. Just trying to preserve it when possible :)
