Cutout issues

I own 2 EVo. lve boards. A gen 2 Bamboo and Carbon.

The bamboo uses the Gen 2 black remote. Recently, it began cutting out. When I hold the remote directly near the board - no problems. When i move the remote away from the board even in a normal riding position. It cuts out.

I tried the gen 2 remote on the Carbon. Same situation.

This suggests the remote is the problem. But...

I've recently had cutout issues with the carbon and it's white remote. It's random. But last night, I got on and within 30 seconds, I heard the brakes being applied???

I've ordered a new black remote in the meantime. But, what else could it be...

 

swap the remote and also recently I've found that if there is lag between the remote and the board just power everything down and back up again (its been reported to randomly pick 1 of 64 different channels) and this has helped. (also wait at least 3 secs after booting board first to turn on remote) - other than that its the nature of the beast that many of us have been complaining about since last Nov.
