Hello, I'm looking for two RaceStar motors, the alternatives on Banggood. They're currently out of stock right now, and I need some asap as my motor on my Bamboo GT broke.

I'm located an hour north of San Francisco. If you have two laying around and no longer need them, please let me know.

    Thank youj

Hi, I recently purchased the same motors that are on Banggood, from aliexpress, they're the same price (around $60NZD) keep in mind though you will also need to buy the gear for each motor too ($5NZD) as for quality mine look exactly identical to a week old replacement motor from evolve, except it has a red colour scheme, hope this info helps, glad to offer some help even if it isn't my spare new motors

Hey there, I did see them on Alexpress, but I needed them asap. Luckily someone located two of them for me here in the states and I just ordered them. Unfortunately, they don't come with the gears, so I'm trying to find those here in the US now as well. When is your order coming in. Did you happen to order extra gears?

Someone told me I could remove the gears from Evolve, but not sure how..

I have the motors now and my gears have been shipped but are probably a week or two away with aliexpresses long shipping. I also tried to remove the gear of one of the evolve motors, although I had no luck even after removing the grub screw, I have read that the tolerances between the shaft size and the gear hole are very close so I presume that is the reason I couldn't remove it. Once I get time I'm going to try and loosen it the same way you would to remove the shaft from the motor which is also very stiff, by using a steel punch and a hammer to tap it loose

Hey Cameron. I have two motors on my way now. Right now I've been trying to take off this gear, but with no luck. It's not budging at all. I used a lighter on it to make it super hot. I already bent my 1.5mm allen wrench. I literally went to Lowes to get a new one, the second I get home, I torched it for a bit, put the allen wrench in, and it broke withing two seconds...fml

Someone redirected me to someone who might have some though which is good. Weird how these went from having the gears to not. How exactly did you remove the grub screw??

Thats really odd, i had no trouble removing mine at all, it was just as easy as any other screw on the board, the photo is of the screw i have just removed, however i still can't remove the gear but i didn't have a problem with the screw. IMG_4885.JPG

You removed this screw right? The one I'm pointing too in this picture:

Damn I can't do it. I have literally twisted my allen wrench to death...Just doesn't seem to work. Use a torch thing or lighter on the top for a bit then try

I'll try that soon, i actually don't have a lighter with me at the moment, but need to go get some other tools anyway so can do it then, hope you have more luck removing your screw

    Hi all-
Use a heat gun on the gear for a while; beware of pointing it at the motor itself. There’s thread lock holding he screw and gear on. Once it’s warm it’ll slide off. Do reapply when you put it on your new motors. Meanwhile I’m looking for a good original motor—I’m running bang goods and want to compare back with working evolve motors to verify that I’m having controller and not motor problems. If you have one good motor you’d sell let me know...I might even buy bad motors for parts if they’re cheap! Thanks

Be very careful or you’ll damage the motors—the key is a heat gun. Heat up the gears and they come right off. Then make sure to use some locktight when you re-install.
I have an extra set of racestars if someone wants them—pm me.
