    Hello guys,

I just found this forum and you all seem to know what you are talking about, hehe.

My question please is, what could cause interference with the board around the city?
I moved to Melbourne ,Australia and I was riding the other week near an intersection at I think it was called Flinders St.
I was at the lights and my board stuttered and jolted while I was trying to cross, I took my finger off the trigger and it kept doing it, so I got off the board and walked. Do drones or something effect the signal, traffic lights? trams? It has happened few times at this location. What can we do to prevent this from happening? I thought there was a security or something that did not let signals come in, I have no idea.

thank you, nice to know what it is about this spot that makes it go silly.

This is NOT a bluetooth / remote dropout. A dropout will shut the board down, when you let go of the trigger the board MUST stop. Also with dropouts when the signal is severed, the board should shut down on its side not take the last command an keep going. Either way this HAS to be fixed.

Feel free to read my thread. I had similar experience with my board the night before my incident where my GT just took-off and fully accelerated throwing me off my board.

Call / email Evolve to let them know because this is NOT correct behavior of a motorized consumer device:

    Here's my link:

Got thrown off the GT, board took off without my command, petition to Evolve to fix remote

At the end of the thread other forum members also experienced what I experienced. They had Evolve swap out their remotes and the boards are working as they should, safely.

We may want to make a sticky on both GT forums to bring this issue to rider's attention. Such as writing up what a properly working remote looks / feels like when riding and one that is clearly faulty.

Now you indicated your issue ALWAYS occurs in the same location and is reproducible everytime? If so this is REALLY bad, this is interference on the same bluetooth channel / frequency that also is sending out the same exact command or at least locking the last command down that the user requested from the remote input.

As recommended by other forum members, I'm putting my GT on the shelf until Evolve sends me out a new remote. I got hurt once, I don't want to get hurt bad again doing something I enjoy that will prevent me from enjoying my hobbies and passions.

I have a spot like that too on way to work. It's power cables where they are too high to ground and somehow interferes. Same spot every time.

I run an IR remote on my MetroBoard and prefer that. It has its flaws, but they're known and can be avoided.

-Line of site needed from remote to receiver.
-Light diminishes IR signal if sun is very bright, so you need to adjust for that.

However, you won't have random interference. Trade-Offs. Seen people in the EV boarding spectrum moving towards RC Remotes now. I believe the frequency is not as overloaded as Bluetooth. Still RF.

Its a known issue with drop-outs.

A board getting a wrong signal is something else. Ever have your Bluetooth accessory drop? Yes for me. Ever have it change the volume or access the user inputs. No for me.

I know this is a major step backwards...but, is it possible to install a hard wired trottle to the motherboard on a GT? I could live with it for a while until the remote issue is sorted out.

So I got to talk to my RF friend/engineer about how my board just took off as well as interference. He said yes, bluetooth is susceptible to interference and garbage being translated to a command such as to throttle. We started talking more and I believe that's why some companies chose to encrypt the bluetooth traffic between the remote/board. It acts like a key, so the interference garbage would need this unique key and then send the junk as a command which is highly unlikely. Better protection for the rider, but doing the key exchange each time makes the conversation slower, so a bit of a trade-off.
