Whatsup guys. New here, wasn't sure where to put this; the Gen2 area of this forum is a ghost town...

So I know the red LED starts flashing when the remote is getting low, that's cool. What I want to know is when I plug it in to charge, how do I know that it's actually charging? None of the LEDs do anything on the Gen2 remote to indicate that it's actually charging, if I'm not mistaken? Also, there is no LED indication to tell me when it's finished charging...

This is my experience with my unit. Is this normal? I feel like there should be some sort of indicator to tell me that 1. It's charging, and 2. It's finished charging.

Can anyone help me out? At the moment I just charge it up for a couple of hours once a week (I do about 30kms a week). That's fine and all, but I feel like it's a little blind. Like the board, I'd like to know when the remote is charging vs. done.

Sounds like you're talking about either the board charger or the GT remote, PacoP...

I'm talking about the older Gen2 remote (no LCD, only three lights - red, yellow and green).

    I have a gen 2 .

I have a light on the plug that you put into the wall.
It's green when it's not plugged into the remote .
When I plug it into the remote it turns red.
    When charged it's green.
Sounds like you don't have a LED light on the plug..or it's never worked .
The remote is off when charging so the remote lights don't so anything.

Actually, that kind of explains it. I bought my board 2nd hand and it didn't come with a remote charger. I just use a USB cable to the wall or my computer depending on where I am. I guess I just have to keep guessing... My remote charging routine hasn't let me down so far, so I guess I'll just keep doing that.

    Cheers.

The remote charges quick ..so 2 hours a week would do it..
    That's what I would do..I'd the light broke .

Yeah just plug in for a couple of hours and boom done. Plug that came with remote originally would have light as mentioned. . You can mod your remote if you open up, when charging will see a light that turns blue when charged. Drill hole and cover with some see through plastic but that to much of a pain for me TBH. Some have done it tho

  10. Hi,

I asked this on our Perth Evolve page. Turns out there's a LED in the Gen 2 remote, just not visibile... (handy)

Long story short, if you get the measurements right, you can drill a small hole in the cover of your remote (with the cover detached, don't drill into the circuit board!) There's the red and blue lights (red, needs charging, blue = charged) Shown at the bottom of the "V" on the gen 2 remote. 17204453_10155150241799365_1496001045_n.jpg
