Evolve Suggestion World wide travel service for batteries

Hi Guys

iam about to get 4 boards for my family. One big key for us that makes me hold back is that travel seems tricky. I don't think it would be that hard to make world wide service for that in the community & evolve.

Lets say in a form like ex Airbnb and you can easy find´d shops or just people in the community that has batteries for rent! You pay and pickup when you arrive.
Or you pay a premium (tesla) to evolve and they sign colaberation in the major citys and holiday areas. For me that would be a easy choice for sure would pay for that service and would be a real deal breaker for many in the future if this is a option.

I would love to visit citys beaches and swing around with my kids friends. Would be a perfect way to explore the world At the moment it looks like way to complicated and costly. If a company like evolve has this you would be way ahead and pretty sure will sell a lot of boards .....

Whats your view on this .... or any other better smarter idees around ?

 

It's a good idea IMO.

 

It's a nice sentiment but i don't think it's practical in real life (sorry for being a downer). Most people will be unlikely to loan their batteries out - not only because it's a bit of a hassle the way it's designed but because 1) they may never get it back 2) someone could thrash them and misuse them and 3) if the battery screws up while on loan - the liability/responsibility is a bit of a headache. Evolve could do it potentially but they're not a huge company (if they had alot more capital/sales then as a customer experience thing - yeah totally) but not atm.

I would love to travel with my boards but a better idea would be Evolve selling 99wH 'travel battery packs' and redesigning their casing so that it can accept removable batteries more easily. It's been done on the Mellow board/Koowheel although the quality is not quite there yet on the latter.

The 99wH is the primary reason why Boosted have lower battery powers- but there have been stories of people having their flights cancelled/boards having to be shipped/confiscated. With the way batteries need to be kept as carryons, and the board sometimes too big and requiring to be checked, that's the only way to make a truly flightworthy board.

But it's no guarantee you won't be stopped at the airlines unfortunately.

I understand your view its not easy for sure but if there is a need for this and you can earn money There is a ton of these things coming in the next few years this is just one below that could work. The hole car industry is working on launching electric stations. In these areas you will see big biz and anything thats ad to that service in these areas is a bonus. You will see many partnership in the future in batteries on all things that can move for sure ....

a battery sharing service would make more sense than battery transport.

a way to travel without a battery and make arrangements to get hooked up with battery packs on location.
