Hi guys. Can someone help me building a new Battery for my evolve bamboo gen 2?
I experience too much voltage sag and low range (max 15km).

    Thank you very much.

Did you get help on your battery issues? I need a new battery too

Yes. I contacted a guy here in this forum who make batteries.
    I spent around 400€ for 40 Vct6 sony cells.
Now i can ride for at least 20 km with 0 sag in full speed mode. Probably i can reach around 40-45km in slow mode.

Nice, I need to find someone in the US to sell me one. Was it plug and play? Or did you need to build the connections to fit Evolve BMS?

There’s a few people making them here in the us. Longhairedboy is one , although he requires you send him your board for the mod.
I’m building a battery for mine tomorrow. Ordered a bunch of Samsung 30Q cells. Looks like the exact BMS connector is a little tough to source. I’ll just be pirating the one from the stock battery

My board was completely submerged in water due to a flood, I would love to build one but have no idea if the BMS connector still works. Is it easy to build?

I removed the bms. I check once a month the voltage of each cell. After 6 month the’re still balanced

Yammo – I don’t believe the sony cells you are using are protected so if you aren’t using a BMS that sounds risky to me. Not sure I would keep that setup in my house when charging. Now if you have a good charger and over charging isn’t an issue ok that may ease the fear a little but…. why someone would sell you a pack without a BMS doesn’t sound like a sound idea to me. Not trying to be a knucklehead or anything and hope you enjoy the setup but I wouldn’t recommend that setup to someone.

Pvsims76 – while they aren’t listed on the evolve sites if you contact them via email they will sell you a battery pack. As KWasch stated you do have other options like LHB who also makes packs with better cells then the stock pack so that is also an option. If you want to build your own pack there are a number of great posts on how to do so. I think you biggest issue will be knowing whether any of your circuit boards were compromised due to the water. Good luck either way.

Building the pack wasn’t too bad. Turned out great. It was my first and there are plenty of good resources here for build guides. I have enough supplies to build you a pack, just need cells of your choice. Your BMS is the question. I know of someone selling one on another forum. As someone suggested you can always buy a battery with the BMS from Evolve
