Hello guys, I just got my Bamboo GT today, amazing machine!

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or not, but if I turn on the board and then the remote 50% of the time it won't sync, the thottle does not work at all, if I press the left button for 3 seconds the signal icon starts to blink every two seconds, I guess is trying to connect, but nothing happens, so I can only turn off the remote and then on back again.

The 25% of the time it will sync right away but there is noticeable lag between the throttle input on the remote and the electric motor, so it's very unsafe to ride it.

The last 25% it connects and works perfect, even if I ride it for 10kms it won't loose signal at all, the remote is responsive and perfect, no complains here.

I tried to follow these steps:

    1. Hit the left button twice to enter the menu Go down to more info click the right button
    2. Then press the RIGHT button twice and then the LEFT button twice Check if the remote is set to V1 or V2,
    3. Then press RIGHT button twice and then LEFT button twice to change between V1 and V2 Then try to re-sync

To test V1 and V2 options, but it will only work in V2 in the same unreliable as described before, V1 does not pair with the board at all.

I'm I missing something here?, is there an initial setting I should do it the board/remote, BTW the Bamboo GT is brand new, I just got it today?

you may have a ba motor controller or something, contact Evolve to have it fixed, if it is not working as intended they will fix it for you, be careful not to ride it while this sort of connection issue is present

Thanks Jordan, once I get it to pair the board works perfect, no disconnections at all and the remote is responsive. The problem is only when I initially turn on both the remote and board, some times it syncs, sometimes it doesn't.

I wonder is there is any specific procedure to reset pairing and pair it again

I had a very similar issue. It turned out my remote was bad. Evolve USA replaced it instantly. Super smooth experience. If you are in the US I would email their service email. Brandon is awesome and will get you 100% squared away! Or just call them up tomorrow.

My issue was actually a tad worse as I would connect sometimes but then lose connection

Maybe I got the remote you returned, it didn't have any plastic covering the screen and it was little dirty on the frame, unfortunately I'm not in the US, so for me it might be a little more tricky

Neverteless, I contacted them already, hope to get a reply tomorrow.

only to un pair and re pair that I know of. Take a few minutes to double check it before heading off for any ride though, and if you experience further issues, as always speak to Evolve :)

Does anyone knows the correct procedure to unpair and repair it back again?

On the Evolve website it says you should move the throttle lever on the remote to the braking possition, but I'm not sure if this also applies to the newest remote with screen

Good question I have no idea lol, I thought on the new one you just hold the left button down for a few secs

You just hold down the left button for a few seconds ensuring the trigger is not pressed. :punch::thumbsup::beers:

Ok, I just spoke with Evolve. In order to correctly pair the remote to the board you need to follow the next steps:

    1. Turn on the remote (turn it on before the board) (wait 5 seconds)
    2. Turn on the board
    3. Press and hold the left button, but not just a few seconds but until the connection is stablished and you can see the battery percentage on the screen of the remote)
    4. Test the connection by lifting the rear wheels in the air

    Ride it and enjoy

I was having frequent intermittent drop outs just now while riding. Contacted evolve USA while riding and that's what they told me and it fixed my issue. Brandon at evolve is the man!

I also contacted them, it seems to be a bad batch of remotes. They sent me a new one

I had similar issues and this is the fix for me. It's really important that when you turn the board and remote on you don't touch ANYTHING until the remote has fully paired to the board. You will know when it is fully paired because the battery level will be displayed, until then don't touch the trigger. I had a dude that rides a carbon want to try my board yesterday , he didn't do this and told me my board had connection issues, it's because he turned the remote on and just took off without letting it pair.

They really need to publish this. Did it solve your issue?

He couldn't have taken off on your board if it wasn't paired. He may have messed up the trigger calibration for that ride. Only thing you really have to do is not touch the remote trigger while its pairing, its setting the neural point on the trigger. If you move the trigger or the wheels, then the calibration becomes off. Typically I would think the remote / board would be off all the time but it should be linear. If there's a delay between your remote and the board, something is up. My remote did the same thing and turned sketchy. Evolve is sending me out a new remote, hopefully this fixes it. I agree, its 100% unsafe since the board is essentially out of control. I did the pairing process as described, Evolve sent me that and didn't do a darn thing to help. But I don't see how that would fix a board that's not consistent in one bit between the remote/board communication. I believe either the pot or the remote / board is very intolerant to RF interference. The latter is most probable.

Just wanted to add: Bought a new remote and it does not pair with my boards. I bought a carbon gt and a bamboo gt when it was first released in July (Australia) and the old ones pair fine (using all correct procedures above). The new one stays stuck in pairing mode. So its definitely an issue with the 'new' remote.

The remotes are also slightly different. The trigger on the original remote is slightly slanted whereas the newer ones have a vertical trigger. (It may have twisted like this due to use, but I doubt it as I cannot change the position of the trigger so I think it was designed this way).

Currently contacting Evolve now but wanted to add my experience in case someone else had the same issue.

    *EDIT*
Stumbled upon a great fix for this issue on another thread in Carbon section.

The solution for older V1 boards:

Hit the left button twice to enter the menu
Go down to more info click the right button
Then press the left button twice and then the right button twice
Then press the RIGH button twice and then the LEFT button twice
Check if the remote is set to V1 or V2,
Then press left button twice and then right button twice to change between V1 and V2
Then press RIGHT button twice and then LEFT button twice to change between V1 and V2
*Reset Remote and initiate standard pairing procedure (turn board on until flashing light, then initiate pairing by holding left button)*

Thanks Andy and Evolveina for the instructions (from the other thread).

    Remote works fine now =D

Hi and thanks for the input to this issue. I have just replaced my remote for my GT carbon and I was also having issues pairing my remote. As I already paired my board with the old remote didnt matter what I did i couldnt get it to pair. The new remote was on V2 as I have the latest GT Carbon.
    What I did was swap to V1, then turn off the remote to insure it went to v1 mode. Then swiched it back to V2 and then it would pair as normal no problems. Just like a computer wind the windows down then up again and for me all is good. So give that a go if nothing else works or just do it from the start. Cheers hope this helps some one else. :}

  18. I don't ride often, however wanted to go out to the shops today... the board refused to pair with the trigger! Jesus this is a pain in the ass...
Evolve hotline is a waste of time; as it goes to 'busy tone' then disconnects you.

Obie1 - how did you determine if it was your remote at fault and you needed to buy a new one?

Hi everyone, Time I made a post, I received my new Bamboo One two weeks ago, during this time I have had constant remote/board connection issues, Day 3 resulted in a slight hill, no connection no brake, came off attempting to land safely on the back side, some grazed elbows all good.

I continue to read the forums about this remote/board connection issues, for me its random and I have adjusted my ride to pretty much build up some speed and roll, Today I have just got back home from the Hospital with a broken collar bone, I was travelling up a hill no sweat, Started to cruise down the hill, brake was originally working, then nothing, got down low bracing for brake.. nothing all lights on the remote working and nothing, I was carving to slow down but was fast approaching an intersection, stupidly thinking I could run off the board, I shoulder charged the road, 5 hours in emergency later I'm contemplating what the hell I write to these guys, This thing is going to kill someone one day, the Brakes need to be bullet proof and in my experience the Bluetooth connectivity on this thing is rubbish.

Will be chatting with Evolve Gold Coast tomorrow, but I'm thinking buy the reading on the various forums the components used in these boards need a good looking at.

Hi! I had the same issues with my bamboo gt last year and I realy don't understand why they didn't do something with this realy dangerous issues.I had connection problems with the carbon gt too. They replace my motor controller on both board. I never had other issues with the bamboo but the carbon is not perfectly fix they want a video of the problem but the board did do it after they ask for the video and my garanty is almost finish. I'm always VERY CAREFUL with this board and absolutely not trust them. All the owners of this board need to be extremely careful with it. If you can leave feedback after you talk with evolve I'm interested to see what they will explain to you about this crazy dangerous situation.

    Thanks
