Anyone else having issues where a motor stops working but still brakes, I've sent by board back to them once before and the one I got sent back is having the same issues. I'm being told by evolve to send them the motor so they can replace it again.

But I am also getting e-mails from another person at evolve saying I need to send the whole board to them.

Has anyone else had dealings like this? The board is my transport and the cost of Taxi's and time contacting them is getting insane (I'm yet to receive 2 emails from them in the 1 day...)

Maybe try phoning to speak to someone to talk things over for a one call resolution? Sometimes it's easier to talk it out when trying to discuss and troubleshoot issues.

I've got my board back with the third motor it worked fine for about a month and now braking makes the board lose connection and won't reconnect until you turn the board off and on again, braking starts this all over again.

That's not ideal  Let us know how you get on getting it resolved.

I have been randomly having this problem too, apparently it's a bad motor controller, strangely it only happened to me after being out on my board for a while, I figure it is related to heat build up.... maybe

I have a problem with my gt carbon. One of the motors stopped working. I tried to swap the connections and the same motor was dead. I am waiting for a new motor from Evolve. The strange thing is that today I did the same thing just to make sure it was a motor problem but this time both motors run without any problem. I was happy to be able to ride the board again. I rode the board for 20min, no problems. 2 hours later I turn on the board going for work and the same motor dead again. How can this be? Anyone had this problem? Motor or motorcontroller faulty?

Moon, That's the same issue I'm having or sounds the same atleast.
The issue you are having was happening to me with the first 2 motors they put on the board.

It seems that the motor controller is indeed the issue with our boards.

Stay safe with this as for me it's ended with some nasty sores.

Do you have a new motorcontroller now?

No, after getting in contact with evolve and spending way to long with e-mails I've been asked to send the board back with the receipt, because of this and not being given a receipt/losing it. I decided not to reply because the stress of being told that not having the receipt voids the warranty and that i'm stick with a 2k board that I can't get fixed. They didn't actually tell me this but I decided to leave the board as is for a bit until I can be bothered dealing with the potential stress.

In their e-mail they hinted towards the fact they know the motor controller version 1 (what we have) has some issues, I'm guessing this is the information you are after.

    When was it purchased?

The boards haven't even been on sale for a year and consumer law in many countries cover you for at least 12 months. If that's the case a receipt shouldn't be necessary.

I got it as soon as it was released but they sent it back to me the most recent time less than 12 months ago, which resets the warranty.
    .
I'll just shoot them an e-mail and find out.

I've been given 3 motors with my issue, after a few weeks/months it breaks again, partially breaks or turns off but then get's progressively worse til it breaks fully, resting the board fixes the issue but only for a while which is usually less than the initial times.

Stay safe for a while to make sure it's actually fixed.

My issue where the board brakes fully with the slightest touch is probably the most dangerous, it also turns due to only braking one wheel.

I would not change the motor again. If the motor issue comes back, there has to be something wrong with the motorcontroller. I don't think you were sent 3 faulty motors.

I told them after the first time it broke that it wasn't the motor as the issue doesn't make sense that way. The motors are the cheapest part to fix so I assume it's just them being cheap.
